    4 Killed as Small Plane Crashed in Chatsworth, Georgia

    A small plane crashed on Piney Hill Road in Chatsworth, Georgia, on July 1st.

    The incident happened when the twin-engine Piper PA-23 plane was carrying four people.

    Authorities said all four occupants of the plane were killed in the crash.

    The incident is being investigated.

    Cypress Street Crash

    COMPTON CA — On West Cypress Street, a twin-engine Cessna 310 collided with three homes. Five individuals were injured, including the pilot, two passengers and two on the ground. All five victims were taken to area hospitals and are expected to survive.

    The crash occurred after the plane experienced complications and losing power. The cause has not yet been determined.

    After clipping a house, the right wing detached, then the craft cartwheeled down the street over a second home and landed nose down through the roof of a third house.

    One of the homeowners was at home washing dishes at the time of the crash and sustained a fractured jaw and broken bones. The plane’s passengers are in critical condition, and the pilot can’t give an accounting. The cause is under investigation by the FAA and NTSB, with both reports expected by December 2008.

    Two Killed after Small Plane Crashed in Arizona

    A P-51D Mustang plane crashed near Maricopa, Arizona, on February 5th.

    Authorities said the World War II-era plane caught fire after the crash.

    Two people were killed in the crash. Their identities have not yet been disclosed.

    The FAA and the NTSB are investigating.

    Robinson Crashed in Mudgee Australia

    What: Robinson 44 helicopter
    Where: Mudgee Australia
    When: Dec 9, 2012
    Who: 1 fatality
    Why: A 48 year old man on an agricultural flight was flying a Robinson helicopter and crashed in steep and rugged bushland at Grattai in New South Wales. Emergency services responded to the scene at 11:00 a.m.

    The pilot is thought to have been spraying for weeds.

    The pilot was pronounced dead at the scene. The Australian ATSB is investigating.

    Shenandoah Crash Fatalities Named in Mid-Air Collision

    What: Cessna 172H
    Where: Staunton, Virginia
    When: Dec 31, 2010, 2 pm
    Who: 2 fatalities, 2 aboard.
    Why: AirCare 5, a medical-evacuation Eurocopter EC135 bumped off the Cessna’s left wing, after which the Cessna crashed, killing the two aboard.

    The registered owner of the plane is Michael W. Price of Elkton, Va. The victims were Jason Allen Long, 32, of Edinburg, and Jacob Houston Kiser, 19, of Grottoes.

    Three people, pilot Paul Weve, co-pilot and flight nurse Joseph Root and flight nurse Carolyn Booke were aboard the Eurocopter, which landed safely. They had just dropped off a patient at the University of Virginia Medical Center. PHI Inc. of Lafayette, Louisiana owns the helicopter which is based at Weyers Cave Airport. The helicopter pilot has been praised in the media for making an amazing landing.

    Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport is 30 miles northwest of Charlottesville. SHD is an “uncontrolled airport” with no air traffic control tower.

    Airbus A400M Atlas Cargo Plane Crashes in Spain; 4 Dead

    An Airbus A400M Atlas Cargo plane crashed near San Pablo airport in Seville, Spain on May 9.

    The military aircraft was attempting an emergency landing when it crashed into a pylon.

    There were 6 people aboard the aircraft at the time; 4 of them were killed while the others were injured.

    Authorities said the aircraft was on a test flight and was scheduled to be delivered to Turkey in June.
