Regional Express Airlines flight ZL-5361 had to return and make an emergency landing in Cairns, Queensland, Australia, on February 1st.
The plane took off for Mount Isa, Queensland, Australia, but had to turn back due to an engine problem.
The plane landed safely. All twenty people aboard remained safe.
Etihad Airways flight EY-4234 had to return and make an emergency landing at Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Pasay, Philippines, on August 30.
The Boeing 777-300 flying to Abu Dhabi, UAE, had to return due to smoke in its cabin.
The plane landed safely after dumping fuel.
No injuries were reported.
Southwest Airlines Flight 1704 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Los Angeles International Airport on September 20.
The plane, en-route from Sacramento to Bob Hope Airport, Burbank, was diverted after its flaps malfunctioned during the flight.
The plane landed safely and no one was injured.
The airline said the plane “has been taken out of service for inspection and repairs”.
UPS flight 5X-671 made an emergency landing in Springfield, Missouri, on August 1st.
The Airbus A300-600 plane took off for Louisville, Kentucky, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a bird strike.
The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
A helicopter crashed on a farm land near Aspley Guise, Bedfordshire, England, on February 25.
The helicopter, carrying the pilot and 2 female passengers, was en-route to Sussex when its engine malfunctioned. The pilot then decided to make an emergency landing on farm land however, the aircraft flipped over during landing.
According to Inspector Tracey Day, “I was very pleased when I got there to find three people with cuts and bruises, but everyone had walked away relatively unscathed.”

Why: When the crew discovered an “unsafe gear indication” they burned off fuel, (Airport spokesman Miguel Aliaga said the pilot dumped fuel) and requested emergency services to stand by as they undertook an emergency landing on runway 28.
Taban Air flight I3-5680 had to return and make an emergency landing in Tehran, Iran, on December 17th.
The plane took off for Urmia, Iran, but had to turn back after the crew needed to shut down one of the engines.
The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
