A private Mi-8 helicopter crashed in central Ukraine, on January 25th.
It is believed that the helicopter, belonging to a private company Ukrainian Helicopters, was on a training flight when it went down near the town of Kremenchuk, Ukraine.
There were four people aboard at the time; all of them were killed in the crash.

What: ACE Alaska Central Express Air Cargo Beech 1900C en route from Sand Point to Anchorage Where: Sand Point Alaska When: Jan 22nd 2010 Who: 2 crew Why: While en route, the flight lost altitude, and then lost communication. It hit the sea around midnight.
A search party has been formed. Some wreckage has been found near Egg Island.
ACE Air Cargo has joined the search for our Beech 1900 aircraft, that disappeared shortly after departing Sand Point, Alaska with two pilots on board yesterday evening. What: Aragon Fire Brigade government helicopter Where: Camarena, near Teruel Spain When: March 19 2011 13.30 am Who: 7 aboard, 6 killed, 1 injured Why: While en route to put out a fire outbreak in the area of ??Villel, 6 firemen died in a helicopter crash in Spain.
Two helicopters assisted in the recovery of the bodies and rescue of the injured. The one survivor was taken to Hospital Obispo Polanco of Teruel where he is intubated after suffering broken ribs and head trauma. Psychologists of the 112 Emergency Center are meet relatives and colleagues of those affected.
The President of Aragon, Marcelino Iglesias, and the Minister for the Environment, Alfredo Bone have traveled to Teruel. The initial fire which called out the fire helicopter has been controlled.
We haven’t heard yet the make of the helicopter, or the names of those involved. The world is always worse off after we lose our heroes in tragic circumstances.

What: Norwegian military Hercules C-130-J cargo plane en route from Evenes military base to Kiruna Sweden (military exercise) Where: Kebnekaise Mountain When: March 15, 2012 Who: 5 fatalities Why: The plane disappeared from radar as it crossed a mountain range in northern Sweden. It apparently flew into the west side of the mountain, demolishing the plane into pieces smaller than a sheet of paper. There had been bad weather (poor visibility brought on by low clouds, snow and strong winds) at the time of the crash. Harsh weather in the area has been delaying recovery. Wreckage is strewn over a wide area on top of Robots Glacier on the western side of Kebnekaise. No signal was heard from the Hercules’ emergency transmitter.
The Norwegian armed forces indicated that the accident may have occurred when pilots flew manually instead of on autopilot. The mission involved tactical flying. Crew members lost in the crash were Lt. Col. Truls Oerpen, 46; Capt. Staale Garberg, 42; Capt. Bjoern Yngvar Haug, 40; Capt. Steinar Utne, 35; and Capt. Siw Robertsen, 45

The air taxi was flying en route from from Midway Airport in Chicago when the pilot experienced problems Where: near the Tom Sawyer State Park and the Indian Springs Golf Club, near Louisville KY When: Thursday Morning Dec 18 Who: Pilot Evan Freeman, a 25-year-old pilot from Louisville was killed in the crash Why: The crash is under investigation

What: Aryan Aviation Agusta A109C en route to Kuchai Where: Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi India When: 09-MAY-2012 Who: 6 aboard, no fatalities Why: The Agusta A109C helicopter with chief minister of Jharkhand, Arjun Munda and his wife aboard crash-landed from a height of 25 feet at the Ranchi airport. Those aboard (the chief minister, his wife Meera, two pilots, a security officer and BJP MLA Barkuanr Gagrai) were rushed to the hospital and are being treated for injury.
The Minister was scheduled to inaugurate a power sub-station.
Munda sustained several injuries but is in stable condition at the ICU of Apollo Hospital.
On reaching Kuchai, the pilot had informed ATC that the helicopter had developed a rudder control problem. At Birsa Munda Airport, the pilot made four attempts to land, and then hovered to exhaust fuel. There was no fire when the twenty-year-old helicopter went down, as the fuel supply was exhausted.
The DGCA is investigating, and has appointed Sanit Kumar as the I.O.
