Why: On approach to Kochi, the plane developed a loss of pressure in the hydraulics. (The landing gear would not retract.)
The flight made a safe landing however, though it’s return flight was delayed. Passengers on the return flight were provided alternative transportation or hotel accommodations.
What: Marine Corps CH-53 Super Stallion helicopter belonging to Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 461 based at Marine Corps Air Station New River, N.C.
Where: farmer’s field near Tarboro N.C.
When: just after 6 p.m. Tuesday
Who: No one was injured
Why: Emergency landing because of a small electrical fire that started on board. The helicopter is to be repaired on-site and returned to MCAS New River
LOT Polish Airlines flight LLP8015 made an emergency landing at the Burgas airport, Bulgaria, on November 19.
The plane, heading from Warsaw, Poland, to Hurghada, Egypt, was diverted after a passenger said there was a bomb onboard.
The plane landed safely.
All 161 passengers remained unharmed.
American Airlines flight AA-1139 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Jacksonville, Florida, on February 28th.
The Boeing 737-800 plane heading from Cancun, Mexico, to John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, was diverted due to a hydraulic failure.
The plane landed uneventfully. All 154 passengers and 6 crew members remained safe.

Why: While en route to pick up a government official Punjab Industries Minister Manorajan Kalia to Mukerian in Hoshiarpur distric, after takeoff from Chandigarh Airport, the helicopter tilted and fell to the ground, and caught afire. The helicopter had been leased to the Indian government for the past 14 years.
The pilots managed to get out of the burning helicopter alive. They have been hospitalized at Western Command Hospital at Panchkula.
An inquiry is underway.
On December 26, 2012, an Atran-Aviatrans Antonov 12BP en route from Chelyabinsk to Vorkuta with eight crew aboard made an emergency landing in Chelyabinsk after an engine failed.
Pilots landed safely 15 minutes after take-off due to a malfunction of the fourth engine.
The plane is undergoing inspection. No injuries were reported and no damage to the plane during landing.
On June 24 a Beaver float plane took off from Powell River, B.C. and made an emergency landing in Halfmoon Bay when its propeller fell off.
There was minor damage to the pontoons but otherwise the plane was intact.
June 24 at approximately 1:40 p.m., Sunshine Coast RCMP and Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue (RCMSAR) were dispatched. The downed plane was towed to a dock with the respondents and a local boater.
The pilot and three passengers were uninjured.
The incident may have been the result of an engineering malfunction.
