    TAM Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Brazil

    TAMTAM Airlines flight JJ-3289 had to return and make an emergency landing at Sao Paulo–Guarulhos International Airport in Brazil, on April 26th.

    The Airbus A321-200 plane took off for Porto Alegre, Brazil, but had to return shortly afterwards after its right hand engine ingested a bird.

    The plane landed uneventfully. There were 211 people aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.

    The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

    Emergency Landing in San Bernardino County

    What: small plane en route from Reno, Nev. to El Centro
    Where: private airstrip in alongside Interstate 15 near Stoddard Wells San Bernardino County
    When: Monday
    Who: Pilot not named.
    Why: Plane lost power at 7,000 feet, The pilot was intending to land at Southern California Logistics Airport but detoured to the private landing strip. The pilot made an emergency without landing gear, slid on the belly of the airplane with no fire, no hazards, no fuel leaks and no injuries

    Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing at Claremont Municipal Airport

    A small plane made an emergency landing at Claremont Municipal Airport, New Hampshire, on May 3rd.

    The plane was returning from Nashua, New Hampshire, when the pilot reported that he was unable to lower the landing gear. Airport authorities said in a new release, “After exhausting all possible remedies, the pilot advised that he would be attempting a landing with only the nose gear down and locked… The pilot came in on Runway 29 and set the plane down and it skidded to a halt.”

    The pilot, John Wilson, of Lebanon, New Hampshire, remained unharmed.

    Emergency Landing in Bangladesh

    What: United Airways ATR en route from Dhaka to Chittagong
    Where: Hazrat Shah Amanat International Airport
    When: Feb 20, 2012 8:20pm
    Who: 50 aboard
    Why: The pilot was en route to Chittagong when the plane developed a problem with one of the engines. On advice from ATC, the pilot was able to land safely ten minutes early.

    Examination has not uncovered the engine problem.

    A replacement jet has been provided for the return flight.

    Montreal Airport Fire


    A Royal Air Maroc Boeing 767-36NER, Flight 206 from Casablanca, Morocco, had touched down at 4:30 p.m.. While the plane was being loaded, the belt loader caught fire.

    Two hundred fifty passengers evacuated by slide. Several were injured in the evacuation, and seven suffered smoke inhalation, five of whom were hospitalized. The plane is out of service.

    The fire in the belt located by the jet’s cargo door was reported at Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport at 4:47 pm on Nov 4, 2013.

    An investigation is underway.

    Alaska Airlines Plane Diverts to Washington due to Burning Odor

    Alaska Airlines flight AS-792 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Spokane International Airport, Spokane County, Washington, on July 24th.

    The Boeing 737-800 flying from Seattle, Washington, to Detroit, Michigan, had to divert due to burning odor on board.

    The plane landed safely.

    No injuries were reported.
