    The Airbus A321-200 plane flying from Boston, Massachusetts, was descending toward Atlanta when it experienced a lightning strike on the nose.

    Virgin Australia Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Engine Issue

    Virgin Australia flight VA-546 made an emergency landing in Brisbane, Australia, on October 12th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane heading from Coolangatta to Sydney, Australia, was diverted after the crew noticed an engine issue.

    IndiGo Airlines Flight Diverts to Kolkata due to Engine Issue

    IndiGo Airlines flight 6E-3645 had to divert to Kolkata, India, on January 18th.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane flying from Delhi to Assam, India, was diverted after the crew needed to shut down one of the engines.

    The plane landed uneventfully. There were 180 passengers and 6 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.

    Nordwind Commercial Passenger Flight Dodges Missiles over Syria

    On April 29, we saw a report that Nordwind passenger airlines dodged missles over Syria.

    The Airbus A320-232 was flying from Sharm el Sheikh-Ophira Airport to Kazan Airport (from Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt to Kazan, Russia) was over Syria when two missiles exploded in the air close by.

    Interfax.ru reported the crew steered the jet and saved the passengers’ lives. Unidentified forces launched the two ground-to-air missiles which came very close.

    Russian authorities announced the incident.

    On April 29, at 0455 (Moscow time), a Northern Wind plane was travelling in Syrian airspace from Sharm el Sheikh to Kazan and the pilot crew has recorded military activities on the ground that could have endangered the plane and 159 passengers.

    Pilots made a safe landing.

    Kish Airlines flight Y9-7404 had to return and make an emergency landing in Abadan, Iran, on August 7th.

    The plane took off for Tehran, Iran, but had to return shortly afterwards due to an engine failure.
