January 3, 2013, an Air Canada Dash 8 was on approach to Quebec City when a fire was detected.
The plane made an emergency landing with fire crews on stand by.
Passengers evacuated the plane and were bussed to the gate as emergency services put out the fire and examined the plane.
No injuries were reported.

Why: After takeoff, the oil pressure began to indicate instability. When oil pressure began dropping, the crew decided to return to Calgary where they made a safe landing over what ultimately was a loose cap requiring about six liters to be replaced.

A deceptively. It’s rarely such simple carelessness– there might be a gasket somewhere needing replacement we never hear about.

The Airbus A330-200 flying to Rome Fiumicino, Italy, had to return due to a bird strike.
The plane landed safely.
No injuries were reported.
A regional jet of the United Airlines, headed from Columbus, Ohio to Chicago, had to divert and make an emergency landing at Indianapolis International Airport at around 7:40 p.m. on August 21.
According to an airport spokesperson, the flight was diverted after the crew reported smoke in the cockpit.
The aircraft landed uneventfully and all 48 people aboard remained safe.
The cause of smoke is not yet known.
