    Maintenance Door Opens in Flight

    What: Northwest Airlines flight 2271 en route from Baton Rouge to Memphis
    Where: Baton Rouge Metro Airport Monday
    When: Monday May 4, 2009
    Who: 49 people on board
    Why: When an access door to avionics maintenance on the bottom of the jet opened, the flight returned to Baton Rouge and circled to use fuel before landing.

    American Airlines Flight Returns to Baton Rouge due to Landing Gear Problem

    American Airlines flight AA-2847 had to return and make an emergency landing in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on December 22nd.

    The plane took off for Charlotte, North Carolina, but had to turn back after the crew noticed a landing gear problem.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    CityJet Flight Returns to Amsterdam due to Nose Gear Problem

    CityJet flight WX-180 had to return and make an emergency landing in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on January 13th.

    The plane took off for London, United Kingdom, but had to return shortly afterwards due to an issue with nose gear.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Lightheaded Pilots Make Emergency Landing at Heathrow

    What: British Airways A321 en route from London Heathrow to Glasgow
    Where: London
    When: Dec 20th 2011
    Who: pilot and co-pilot
    Why: After takeoff, pilots declared an emergency when they became lightheaded. They returned to Heathrow and made a safe landing. The problem was reported as a technical fault due to fumes or pressure problems in the cockpit. On declaration, pilots called for oxygen which was brought by cabin crew; and oxygen masks were apparently not released for the passengers. The flight made a safe landing. Paramedics were the first aboard, attending to the pilots.

    The replacement jet provided for the passengers took them to their destination with a three hour delay,
