CSA Czech Airlines flight OK-520 made an emergency landing in Frankfurt, Germany, on August 30th.
The plane heading from Prague, Czech Republic, to Dusseldorf, Germany, was diverted after the crew needed to shut down one of the engines.
The plane landed safely. All 55 passengers remained unhurt.
What: Jet Airways en route from Milan to Delhi
Where: Rajasansi Airport, Amritsar
When: August 29, 2012
Who: 1 fatality
Why: Jasmeet Kaur, the three year old child whose family had moved to Italy from Kurukshetra in Haryana for her health, fell ill on a Jet Airways flight, leading the pilot to make an emergency landing, but she was pronounced dead on arrival to the Verka Bypass Hospital.

What: Continental Airlines Boeing 767-200 en route from Rio de Janeiro to Houston
Where: turbulence occurred southeast of Puerto Rico; diversion to Miami.
When: Aug 3rd 2009
Who: 168 passengers and 11 crew members
Why: About an hour out of Miami, the flight encountered turbulence. Four received severe injuries and there were multiple lesser injuries. 28 individuals were treated at the airport on site; 9 were taken to hospitals. (Alternate reports say 13 were taken to hospitals.) The flight landed at Miami, an hour and fifteen minutes after the turbulence.
Uninjured passengers were routed to Houston; in fact, they remained on the plane nearly three hours after landing because it was an International flight and had to be cleared by customs to arrive.
KLM Cityhopper flight KL-1768 made an emergency landing in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on October 17th.
The plane flying from Frankfurt, Germany, was descending toward Amsterdam when the crew reported a hydraulic issue.
The plane landed safely. All fifty-six people aboard remained uninjured.
A British International Helicopter (BIH) Dauphin helicopter had to return and make an emergency landing at Newquay Cornwall Airport, United Kingdom, on December 15.
Authorities said the Eurocopter AS 365N2 Dauphin, based in HMS Drake, Devonport, had to declare an emergency after it developed an engine issue.
According to an airport spokesperson, “We can confirm that an AS65 helicopter with two persons on board made a precautionary return to Cornwall Airport Newquay at approximately 0930 this morning having experienced an issue with one of its engines. The aircraft landed without problem.”
A Cape Air jet had to make an emergency landing at Bradley International Airport, Connecticut, on September 16.
The ten-seater Cessna 402 plane was heading to White Plains, New York from Lebanon, New Hampshire when it experienced an engine problem, forcing the pilots to declare an emergency.
The plane landed safely.
No injuries were reported.

What: Air France Boeing 777-200 en route from Paris to New York
Where: Iceland
When: Monday Jan 17, 2010
Who: 232 passengers
Why: While en route, the pilot became sick and the flight was diverted to Iceland. The first officer landed the plane safely at Keflavik Airport. The captain was hospitalized.
