Dulles Crew Finds Dead Stowaway
A South African Airways Airbus A340 at Dulles International Airport flew from Johannesburg, South Africa to Dakar, Senegal to Virginia with an extra passenger. Crew discovered the body in the wheel well on Thursday. FBI, U.S. customs, border patrol, fire and rescue crews and Dulles police responded to the scene. Fairfax County Medical Examiner’s Office has custody of the body.

Why: While en route, a passenger attempted to open a plane door, saying he had to get out of the plane. He was subdued and restrained, as the flight diverted to Lambert International Airport, where the passenger in question was released into police custody. Charges may be pending. Oman Air flight WY-116 had to make an emergency landing in Munich, Germany, on October 17th.The Airbus A330-300 plane heading from Frankfurt, Germany, to Muscat, Oman, was diverted after the crew received a low engine oil quantity indication.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

Why: The inbound tanker was unable to lower all of it’s landing gear, and burned off (about 7000 gallons) of fuel before it made a belly landing at 3:30 pm.Neither the pilot nor the co-pilot were injured but the plane did skid off the runway.
The air tanker is a fire-fighting plane which had been engaged in fighting a wildfire south of Reno.

Air Arabia Jordan Flight Returns to Khartoum due to Fire in Cabin
Air Arabia Jordan flight G9-666 had to return and make an emergency landing in Khartoum, Sudan, on January 9th.The Airbus A320-200 plane took off for Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, but had to turn back after the crew noticed a fire in the cabin.
The plane landed safely. All one hundred and three people aboard remained unharmed.
