    Boeing Statement on C-17 Globemaster III Airlifter Crash at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska


    ST. LOUIS, July 29, 2010 — A U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III airlifter crashed on the evening of July 28 at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. Four crewmembers are reported to have been killed in the crash. The Boeing Company today released the following statement:

    “Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of the four crewmembers who were lost aboard the Pacific Air Forces C-17 that crashed at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, last night. Boeing stands ready to provide technical assistance to the U.S. Air Force with the investigation into this tragedy.”

    Azur Air Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Russia

    Azur Air flight ZF-6334 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Novosibirsk, Russia, on January 23rd.

    The Boeing 757-200 plane heading from Phuket, Thailand, to Samara, Russia, was diverted after the airport crews found pieces of rubber on the departure runway.

    The plane landed safely. All 116 passengers and 7 crew members remained safe.

    United Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in San Jose

    United Airlines flight UA-1079 made an emergency landing in San Jose, Costa Rica, on February 1st.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane took off for Newark, New Jersey, but had to turn back due to an engine issue.

    The plane landed safely. All one hundred and twenty-eight people aboard remained safe.

    AirAsia X Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Engine Issue

    AirAsia X flight D7-523 made an emergency landing at Naha Airport in Okinawa, Japan, on February 26th.

    The Airbus A330-300 plane heading from Tokyo, Japan, to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, was diverted after the crew needed to shut down one of the engines.

    The plane landed safely. All three hundred and sixty-nine passengers and ten crew members remained unharmed

    Compass Airlines Plane makes Emergency Landing in Utah after Tyre Damage

    compassCompass Airlines flight DL-5689 made a safe emergency landing at Denver International Airport, Denver, Colorado, on May 20th.

    The Embraer ERJ-175, heading from Utah, to Colorado, was mid-air when the crew reported a blown tyre and requested emergency services on standby.

    The plane received minor damage.

    All 79 people onboard remained unharmed.
