Brussels Airlines flight SN-3783 had to return and make an emergency landing in Brussels, Belgium, on August 4th.
The Airbus A320-200 plane took off for Las Palmas, Spain, but had to turn back due to a bird strike.
The plane landed safely. All one hundred and forty-seven people aboard remained unharmed.

What: Germania Airbus A319-100 en route from Cochstedt to Las Palmas
Where: Las Palmas
When: Jan 14th 2012
Why: After being cleared to land on runway 21R, the pilot touched down on runway 21 L. There was no other traffic on the runway at the time.
The pilot apologized and the tower controller chided as one might expect.
The incident is under investigation.
Arik Air flight W3-433 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Benin City, Nigeria, on May 12th.
The plane, heading from Warri to Abuja, Nigeria, was diverted after the crew reported they had to shut down one of the engines.
The plane landed uneventfully. There were 42 people aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.
Etihad Airways flight EY-833 had to return and make an emergency landing in Hong Kong, China, on January 11th.
The Airbus A330-200 plane took off for Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a flaps control problem.
The plane landed safely after burning off excess fuel.
All passengers and crew members remained safe.
A Delta airlines flight had to make an emergency landing at Bradley International Airport in Connecticut, on January 20.
The plane took off for Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, Kentucky, but had to return shortly afterwards after its landing gear failed to close.
The plane landed uneventfully. Everyone aboard remained unhurt.

What: TAP Air Portugal Airbus A340-300 en route from Luanda Angola to Lisbon
Where: Luanda
When: Nov 16th 2011
Why: On takeoff, the plane developed a hydraulic failure.
The pilots returned to Luanda and made a safe landing. Passengers were in the air about a half hour.
Blue Air flight 0B134 had to return and make an emergency landing at Liverpool John Lennon Airport in England, on August 17.
The Boeing 737, that took off for Bucharest, Romania, had to return after the pilot reported a suspected bird-hit just 20 minutes into the flight.
The plane landed safely and burning off excess fuel. Everyone aboard remained unhurt.
After inspection, the plane was cleared to take off again.
