    1 Killed, 1 Injured as Tiger Moth Plane Crashes in Australia

    A vintage Tiger Moth plane crashed on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia, on December 28.

    The biplane, operated by Gold Coast-based Tiger Moth Joy Rides, went down shortly after taking off from an airstrip in Norwell.

    A 58-year-old sightseer from New South Wales was killed in the crash. The 21-year-old pilot, who was the only one aboard sustained injuries and was airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.

    The accident is under investigation.

    Ultralight Fatality in Italy

    What: Ultralight en route to Ozzano of the Emilia
    Where: Rogno Italy
    When: June 6 2010
    Who: Pilot and passenger
    Why: The ultralight developed problems on takeoff, and crashed near an Artogne airstrip. Passenger Ivan Belotti, resident of Cevo Brescia died in the crash. The pilot, Alan Planeti of Esine Brescia has been hospitalized in serious condition.

    At Least Five Dead in Mumbai Plane Crash

    A chartered plane crashed in Mumbai, India, on June 28th.

    The 12-seater plane was carrying four people when it crashed into a construction site in Ghatkopar area.

    Five people were killed in the crash, including four occupants of the plane and one pedestrian.

    Authorities said one other person was injured.

    Single-Engine Plane Crashes in Alaska; Pilot Injured

    A single-engine plane crashed shortly after taking off from an airstrip near Caribou Street and Bogard Road in Wasilla, Alaska, on the morning of September 16th.

    According to sources, the plane had encountered some mechanical issues that resulted in the crash.

    The pilot was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

    The crash remains under investigation.

    Flydubai Flight FZ-981 Crash: Monument to Commemorate Victims Unveiled in Russia

    One year after Flydubai flight FZ-981 crashed at Rostov-on-Don airport, Russia, a monument to commemorate the victims was unveiled near the airport.

    The plane was coming from Dubai on March 19th, 2016, when it crashed amid bad weather conditions, claiming the lives of 62 people.

    The monument, named Interrupted Flight, has been designed by Rostov sculptor Anatolly Sknarin. It shows the names of the victims on a vertical stone slab.

    Russian transport minister Maxim Sokolov was quoted as saying, “A year has passed from that horrible tragedy. Today, we open a memorial. Let me express condolences to the relatives of the victims.”

    Small Plane Crashed at Trinca Airport, NJ; Pilot Dead

    A small plane crashed at Trinca Airport in Green Township, New Jersey, on August 6th.

    Authorities said the single-engine plane went down at the end of the runway.

    The pilot, who was the only one aboard, was killed in the crash.

    The cause of crash is being investigated.
