    China Eastern Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Sydney

    China Eastern Airlines flight MU-736 had to return for an emergency landing in Sydney, Australia, on June 11th.

    The Airbus A330-200 plane took off for Shanghai, China, but had to return shortly afterwards due to an engine issue.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained safe.

    Ajar Door Disrupts Continental Flight

    What: Continental Airlines Boeing 737-800 en route from Port of Spain ,Trinidad/Tobago to Houston,TX
    Where: Port of Spain
    When: Aug 16 2011
    Who: 155 passengers and 6 crew
    Why: After takeoff, the crew noted an indication that a door was open.

    The flight crew elected to return to the airport where they made a safe landing.
    The door was closed, and the flight took off again and continued normally, arriving several hours late, but safely.

    American Airlines Emergency Landing

    What: American Airlines McDonnell Douglas MD-83 en route from Kansas City to Chicago
    Where: Moline,IL
    When: Jul 24th 2010
    Who: 71 people on board
    Why: While en route, passengers detected smoke in the cabin. The pilots diverted to Moline where they made a safe landing.

    Teenager Lands in Oregon Basin

    What: 1978 Cessna fixed wing, single engine aircraft en route from Hillsboro Airport to Corvallis
    Where: in the Jackson Bottom Wildlife Refuge
    When: Saturday
    Who: Teenaged pilot
    Why: The Cessna experienced mechanical problems near Hillsboro Airport.

    The dates reported are not infrequently incorrect. One wonders if this misreported unfound Florida Hillsboro Imaginary Crash may have somehow been a misdirected Ham radio report of the above Hillsboro Oregon Crash.

    Cessna Lands in Canadian Marsh

    What: Cessna 337 en route from Fort McMurray to Buffalo Narrows, Sask.
    Where: Fort McMurray
    When: June 28, 2012 3:45 pm
    Who: 2 aboard
    Why: When the Cessna they were in developed engine trouble, the pilots made an emergency landing in a marsh south of Fort McMurray. No injuries were reported.

    Canada’s TSB is investigating.

    Why: En route, the ditched in the ocean. There were no fatalitis and the passengers were rescued by a fishing boat.
