    What: PNG (Papua New Guinea) de Havilland DHC-6-300 Twin Otter en routefrom Port Moresby to Efogi and further on to the Kokoda Trail
    Where: New Guinea
    When: Aug 11th 2009
    Who: 11 passengers and 2 crew
    Why: The plane never arrived at Port Moresby, and is missing during heavily overcast weather conditions. The last radio contact was on approach to Kokoda, which was aborted.

    SkyWest Airlines Flight Diverts to Reno due to Mechanical Indication

    SkyWest Airlines flight OO-4564 diverted to Reno, Nevada, on September 11th.

    The plane heading from Boise, Idaho, to Los Angeles, California, was diverted due to a mechanical indication.

    The plane landed safely. All seventy-three people aboard remained unharmed.

    Blue Air Plane makes Safe Landing in England after Engine Problem

    Blue Air flight OB-133 made a safe landing at Liverpool John Lennon Airport, Liverpool, England, on February 15.

    The Boeing 737-400, en-route from Romania, was mid-air when the crew noticed some issue with one of its engines.

    The plane landed safely.

    No injuries were reported.

    Korean Air Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Japan

    Korean Air flight KE-783 made an emergency landing in Fukuoka, Japan, on June 9th.

    The Boeing 737-900 plane flying from Busan, South Korea, was descending toward Fukuoka when the crew reported smoke in the cockpit and requested emergency assistance.

    The plane continued for a safe landing.

    There were one hundred and fifty-three passengers and nine crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.

    Bird-Hit Flydubai Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Beirut

    flydubaiFlydubai flight FZ-157 made an emergency landing in Beirut, Lebanon, on March 28th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane, flying from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, was preparing to land in Beirut when a bird hit it, prompting the crew to declare emergency.

    The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unhurt.

    American Airlines Plane Diverts to Missouri due to Multiple Problems

    American Airlines flight AA-970 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Springfield-Branson National Airport, Missouri, on May 3rd.

    The McDonnell Douglas MD-82, flying from Kansas to Dallas, decided to divert when the crew declared they had “a couple of things going on”.

    The plane landed safely.

    No one was injured.
