What: Delta Airbus A319 en route from New York to Palm Beach Florida
Where: Palm Beach International Airport
When: March 11, 2010 11 a.m
Who: 2 flight attendants (3?)
Why: Encountering heavy turbulence on landing at Palm Beach International Airport, the crew requested Palm Beach County Fire-Rescue for two injured flight attendants. No passengers were hurt, but the flight attendants were taken to Columbia Hospital.

Indigo Airlines Flight Rejects Takeoff After Dog Strike

Indigo Airlines flight 6E-468 had to reject takeoff from Goa, India, on October 23rd.

The Airbus A320-200N plane was accelerating to takeoff for Mumbai, India, when the crew rejected takeoff at high speed due to a dog strike.

Several tires deflated and the plane became disabled.

All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

TACA Airbus Cockpit Smoking

What: TACA Peru Airbus A320-200 en route from Lima to Cuzco
Where: Cuzco
When: Sep 18th 2011
Who: 90 passengers
Why: While en route, the windshield heating system began smoking.

Pilots continued to Cuzco, stepping up the pace, and made a safe landing, with no injuries. Some passengers erroneously believed the turbine in the right wing was on fire.

“sobrecalentamiento en el sistema eléctrico de los parabrisas en la cabina de los pilotos originó humo y activó el proceso de emergencia preventiva“, the problem was due to overheating of the windshield heating system, according to TACA, a problem that was essentially a short circuit.

What: SAS Scandinavian Canadair CRJ-900 en route from Copenhagen Denmark to Helsinki Finland
Where: Copenhagen
When: Dec 28th 2009
Who: not available
Why: While en route, the pilot determined that deicing had failed. (Prior to taking off in icy weather, planes are treated with icing retardant. One can presume that the plane was icing over in spite of the de-icing procedure.) Also, conditions in Helsinki were a factor.

Air New Zealand Plane Returns to New Zealand due to Problem with Air Conditioning

ANZ Air New Zealand flight NZ-992 had to return and make an emergency landing at Auckland Airport, Auckland, New Zealand, on May 7th.

The Airbus A320-200 was mid-air when it had to enter a hold due to problem with its air conditioning.

The plane landed safely.

No injuries were reported.

Turkish Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing at Washington Dulles International Airport

Turkish Airlines flight TK-183 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Washington Dulles International Airport, Virginia, on February 23rd.

The Airbus A330-200 plane heading from Istanbul, Turkey, to Havana, Cuba, was diverted due to a mechanical problem.

The plane landed safely. There were 173 passengers and 13 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.

What: Brit Air/Air France Canadair CRJ-100 en route from Paris Orly to Rodez
Where: Paris
When: Dec 16th 2009
Who: 22 passengers
Why: After takeoff, the left engine made several explosive noises, and the plane vibrated. The crew turned the plane around and landed safely at Orly. Passengers were rebooked, provided accommodations and further delayed by snow.
