    What: Silkair Airbus A319-100 en route from Singapore to Solo Indonesia
    Where: Solo
    When: Mar 6th 2012
    Who: 124 passengers and 7 crew
    Why: On landing at Solo, the plane touched down with the left main gear afire.

    Passengers evacuated by way of emergency slides. There were no injuries reported.

    The cause of the gear fire is under investigation although SilkAir says the smoke originated in overheated breaks and that there was no fire.

    S7 Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Russia

    S7 Airlines flight S7-1159 made an emergency landing in Rostov-on-Don, Russia, on December 16th.

    The Airbus A319-100 plane flying from Domodedovo International Airport, Russia, was on approach to Rostov-on-Don when the crew reported an issue with the flaps and entered a hold.

    The plane subsequently landed safely. All one hundred and forty-one passengers and five crew members remained unharmed.

    2 Killed as Sport Plane Crashes in Germany

    A sport plane crashed in a residential area near Goeppingen city of Baden Wuerttemberg, Germany, on January 18.

    Authorities said the plane crashed between apartment buildings, scratching various houses, and ended up in a garden.

    There were 2 people aboard the plane; both of them were killed in the crash.

    According to Police officials, no one on the ground was injured however, the accident caused damage of around 100,000 euros.

    The cause of crash is being investigated.

    Plane Makes Emergency Landing on Grass Airstrip in Harpswell Neck

    A small plane made an emergency landing after running out of fuel on the evening of May 25 on a grass airstrip in Harpswell Neck, Maine.

    The Washington D.C. -bound, single-engine plane landed in the area of Route 123, which is also known as Harpswell Neck Road and Basin Cove Road. According to Lt. John Faith of Brunswick Fire department, the rescue unit responded immediately, but the occupants of the plane refused to be taken to the hospital.

    The plane was slightly damaged.

    Alaska Airlines Jet Makes Hard Landing at Seattle–Tacoma International Airport

    AlaskaAlaska Airlines flight 601 made a hard landing at Seattle–Tacoma International Airport, Washington, on May 18.

    The Boeing 737, coming from Las Vegas, Nevada, was about to land at Sea-Tac Airport when the crew of another plane that was lined up behind it reported fire, sparks and smoke from its left main landing gear.

    Landing was delayed until emergency services arrived at the scene. The airline confirmed that two left tires of the aircraft blew upon landing, erupting sparks.

    All 173 passengers aboard remained unharmed.

    A mobile stairway was brought at the scene to safely disembark passengers and crew.

    The incident is being investigated.

    Iberia Express Flight Rejects Take Off From Lanzarote, CI

    Iberia Express flight I2-3857 had to reject take off from Lanzarote, Canary Islands, Spain, on January 16th.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane was accelerating to take off for Madrid, Spain, when the crew decided to reject take off to check some aircraft systems.

    The plane safely returned to the apron. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
