Bek Air flight Z9-2041 had to make an emergency landing at Astana International Airport, Astana, Kazakhstan, on March 27.
The Fokker 100, en-route from Kzyl-Orda to Astana, was on approach to the runway when the crew detected failure of the landing gear and went around for about 50 minutes before prompting the plane to land without the gear.
The plane received substantial damage.
All people onboard remained safe.
The incident is under investigation.

Why: A pilot flying over Longmont had engine trouble and had to make an emergency landing.
The pilot realized he could not make the airport, and maneuvered in position over the road. He managed to land on a busy road with substantial traffic but there was no impact and the plane and cars were undamaged. The pilot apparently coasted in with the engine off. Interview is below
Delta Airlines flight DL-1827 made an emergency landing in Orlando, Florida, on August 28th.
The plane flying from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to Atlanta, Georgia, was diverted after the crew reported a flaps problem.
The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unhurt.
Turkish Airlines flight TK-1665 made an emergency landing at Istanbul Ataturk Airport, Turkey, on August 22nd.
The plane took off for Hamburg, Germany, but had to return shortly afterwards after the crew reported they could not retract the landing gear.
The plane landed uneventfully. Everyone aboard remained safe.
The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.
Swiss International Airlines flight LX-1574 had to return and make an emergency landing in Zurich, Switzerland, on November 28th.
The Airbus A321-200 plane took off for Vienna, Austria, but had to return shortly afterwards after the right engine emitted a loud bang.
The plane landed back safely. All 167 people aboard remained unharmed.
What: Singapore Airlines Airbus A380-800 en route from Singapore to London Heathrow

Why: One of the plane’s four engines shut down causing an hour’s delay. The plane was taken out of service, and the return flight was delayed until the Airbus was back in service.

Airbus is just starting out with this monster and already having engine issues. Engine shut down is serious stuff, even though the monster can fly on less than 4 engines, it’s serious.
