Swiss International Airlines flight LX-1574 had to return and make an emergency landing in Zurich, Switzerland, on November 28th.
The Airbus A321-200 plane took off for Vienna, Austria, but had to return shortly afterwards after the right engine emitted a loud bang.
The plane landed back safely. All 167 people aboard remained unharmed.
KLM Cityhopper flight KL-1209 made an emergency landing in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on June 20th.
The Embraer ERJ-175 plane took off for Kristiansand, Norway, but had to turn back after the crew noticed engine vibrations.
The plane landed uneventfully. All passengers and crew members remained safe.

What: Frontier Airlines Airbus A319-100 en route from Kansas City, MO to Denver

Why: After take-off, the plane struck several geese. The right engine had to be shut down immediately. The plane immediately returned to the airport to land within ten minutes. This is after the same plane flew through a flock of birds last week, sustaining damage in both engines.
LOT Polish Airlines flight LO-775 made an emergency landing in Vilnius, Lithuania, on August 26th.
The plane was flying from Warsaw, Poland, when the crew reported an issue with flaps and decided to make a flaps up landing.
The plane landed safely at a higher than normal speed. Everyone aboard remained safe.

Why: After practicing touch and go the pilot crashed in a wooded area called Old Incinerator Hill, off Whitaker Road, near the line between Fulton and Volney, a mile sW of Oswego County Airport.
Witnesses heard the engine sputtering before it went down in a heavily wooded area. Part of the wreckage was found fifteen feet up, in a tree.
A small plane crash-landed in a field near Vernon airport in British Columbia, Canada, on December 23.
Authorities said the plane experienced engine failure shortly after it took off from Vernon airport.
According to Vernon’s fire captain Chris Robinson, “The pilot landed in the field just next to the airport. There was just a bit of damage to the plane.”
There were two people aboard including the pilot and his passenger; both of them suffered minor injuries.
