    Presidential Jet of Ghana Catches Fire; No Injuries

    The Presidential aircraft of Ghana caught fire while taking off from the Kotoka International Airport, Accra, Ghana, on March 3.

    Authorities to the Ghana Armed Forces, the “aircraft lost two main left wheels… In spite of the serious veering of the aircraft to the left, they managed to slow and successfully turned off the runway without veering into the shoulders of the runway. The aircraft stopped successfully.”

    After the Falcon 900 stopped, fire was discovered at the left wheels. Fire extinguishers were employed to put it out.

    No one was injured in the incident.

    Beechcraft Musketeer Airplane Crash-Landed at Long Beach Airport

    A Beechcraft C23 Musketeer airplane crash-landed at Long Beach Airport in California, on the night of June 18.

    Authorities said the plane was attempting to land at the runway but rammed into a perimeter fence just before touching the approach end.

    The pilot, who was the only one aboard, sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital.

    The NTSB and the FAA are investigating the cause of crash.

    2 Killed as Small Plane Crashes Near Idaho-Wyoming Border

    A small plane crashed in eastern Idaho near the Wyoming border, on January 4th.

    Authorities said the vintage Yak 52 Russian trainer aircraft went down about 2 miles north of the Alpine Airport, Wyoming.

    There were two people aboard, including Reade Genzlinger, 61, of Bryn Athyn, Pennsylvania, and MacKenzie Ruston, 17, of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Both of them were killed in the crash.

    The FAA is investigating.

    Bird-Hit Royal Air Force Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing at Cardiff Airport

    RAFA Royal Air Force helicopter had to make an emergency landing at Cardiff Airport in the Vale of Glamorgan, United Kingdom, on the morning of February 4.

    According to a Ministry of Defence spokesperson, “Two RAF aircraft were training in Pembrey when one aircraft thought it had been struck by a bird…As a precaution the aircraft asked to land at the nearest airport which was Cardiff…There was no damaged discovered and both aircraft returned to the RAF Valley base in Anglesea.”

    Airport authorities confirmed that Hawk T1 made an uneventful emergency landing and no one aboard was harmed.

    2 Escaped Injury after Helicopter Crashed on Frozen Black River

    CrashA 2-seat helicopter crashed on a frozen section of the Black River in northern New York on the afternoon of February 1.

    The incident happened east of Watertown when the Gary Johnson, of Carthage, was taking a pleasure ride with his passenger Michael Rohr.

    Both occupants of the helicopter survived the crash and were able to walk to a nearby road.

    The accident is under investigation.

    Cathay Dragon Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Hong Kong

    Cathay Dragon flight KA-342 made an emergency landing in Hong Kong, China, on April 13th.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane took off for Fukuoka, Japan, but had to turn back due to cabin pressure problems.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All passengers and crew members remained safe.
