A small plane crash-landed at Hayward Airport in California, on December 18.
It is believed that the twin engine prop plane experienced a landing gear problem upon landing.
There were two people aboard at the time; none of them were harmed.

U.S. Airways Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Strange Odor
U.S. Airways flight 706 en route from Charlotte Douglas International Airport in North Carolina to Germany returned for emergency landing shortly after taking off on August 18.The plane was returned to Charlotte after the crew reported a strange odor on board. The plane touched down on the runway uneventfully at around 10 p.m.
Eleven passengers fell sick because of the smell. Seven of them were treated at the airport and 4 others were taken to Carolinas Medical Center with non-life threatening conditions.
The cause of the smell is not yet known.
The passengers were provided an alternate plane to resume their journey.

Flybe flight BE-331 crash-landed at Belfast International Airport, Northern Ireland, on November 10th.The plane was heading from George Best Belfast City Airport, Northern Ireland, to Inverness, Scotland, when the crew diverted to Belfast International Airport due to a gear problem.
The plane landed without nose gear.
One passenger was injured and was taken to a hospital.

Why: During an event during which rides were sold, the vintage bi-plane crashed. A witness noted the pilot was in trouble before the crash.Two victims, a small boy and an older gentleman, left the wreckage on their own before being taken to the hospital. The pilot was removed by EMS.

Why: Over the town of Angel R. Cabada, the plane was flying in a westerly direction, made a turn and then exploded in the air. Documents found on the bodies belong to a married couple, Reggie and Andrea Henkart . The occupants were employees of U.S. company Agfa Phoenix.
Rescue services responded to the call but there was not much they could do for the victims but secure the scene.There was a slight rain at the time of the event, and the location is one that is difficult to access in a sugar cane field and tropical rainforest. The two aboard were Americans.
