    Delta Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing at JFK Airport

    250px-Delta_logo.svgDelta Airlines flight DL-1972 made an emergency landing at John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, on May 2nd.

    The Airbus A319-100 was flying from Austin, Texas, when the crew reported a flaps problem and requested emergency assistance.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All 138 people aboard remained safe.

    What: Hungarian Malev Airlines Q400 Bombardier en route from Varna to Budapest
    Where: Bulgarian coastal town of Varna
    When: 5:25 am on May 12
    Who: 30 passengers
    Why: The plane experienced an undisclosed technical problem and turned back almost as soon as it was in the air. The plane that turned back is the same as the Colgan Air plane that crashed in Buffalo NY. This plane, however, was not flying with ice on its wings.

    Delta Emergency Landing in Great Falls Montana

    What: Delta Boeing 757 en route from Atlanta to Seattle
    Where: Great Falls International Airport
    When: October 23, 2011, 12:30 pm
    Who: 177 passengers, 1 emergency
    Why: While en route, a passenger aboard flight 129 became unconscious.

    The pilots diverted to Great Falls where they made an emergency landing, and delivered the passenger to an ambulance which took her to Benefits Health System, facilitated by the Montana Air National Guard Fire Department.

    The flight took off again, promptly.

    Small Plane Crashes in Camarillo, California; Father, Son Killed

    A small plane crashed in Camarillo, California, on June 4th.

    Authorities said the single-engine plane went down in a private property in Marvella Court.

    There were two people aboard at the time, including James Harlan, 57, and his son, Dylan Harlan,15; both of them were killed in the crash.

    The incident is being investigated.

    American Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Miami

    American Airlines flight AA-1391 had to return and make an emergency landing in Miami, Florida, on September 4th.

    The Boeing 757-200 plane took off for Saint Thomas, US Virgin Islands, but had to turn back after the crew noticed a “potential airspeed malfunction”.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Small Plane Crashes in Santa Ana; 5 Dead

    A small plane crashed in Santa Ana, California, on August 5th.

    The plane carrying five people was on approach to John Wayne Airport when it went down in the parking lot of a shopping center.

    All five occupants of the plane were killed in the crash.
