A stowaway USB flash drive on American Airlines Flight #24 from San Francisco caused the crew to divert to Kansas City International airport.
The USB flash drive, found in the bathroom, was mistaken for a bomb.
Two hundred and twenty-seven passengers were bussed to the terminal, and then bussed back after it turned out to be someone’s lost flash drive.

On January 13, 2013, a Piper 28R-200 Cherokee Arrow B was en route from Georgia, and contacted Dover Air Force Base with a PAN (three repetitions of pan-pan signify an urgency on board) before crashing in heavy fog.
At 7:10, Dover initiated a search for the Cherokee Arrow. Fire services from Camden, Cheswold, Dover, Frederica, Hartly and Leipsic searched; the Little Creek Fire Company found the wreckage in Delaware at 9:35.
The pilot’s body was recovered from the scene.

Why: The plane took off from Tomsk at 10:10, and developed an engine fire around 11:48. The pilot attempted to divert to divert to Nizhnevartovsk Airport and had to make an emergency landing, crashing into the Ob river. The tail and port engine detached on impact.
Twenty passengers were hospitalized, and seven passengers died in the crash.
Alaska Airlines flight AS-1390 made an emergency landing in Los Angeles, California, on August 12th.
The Airbus A320-200 plane heading from San Francisco, California, to New Orleans, Louisiana, was diverted after a strong odor was noticed in the cabin.
The plane landed safely. All one hundred and thirty-six people aboard remained unharmed.
A United States Navy Sikorsky MH-60S Sea Hawk assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 6 crashed in the Red Sea on Sunday. Three of the five aboard are recuperating. Two are missing and presumed dead. The crew is from Naval Air Station North Island. (San Diego)
