    Honduran President Makes Unanticipated Landing

    Why: The plane called “West Wind” made an unplanned landing at the US military base in Palmerola (Soto Cano air base in Comayagua) when it developed technical problems at 8000 feet. An indicator light that flashed on board the West Wind jet that instigated the decision to land.

    Lobo was flying to New Orleans to sign scholarship agreements to support the 50 best students from low-income families who graduate from high school will be sent on scholarship to good U.S. universities.

    The plane is being checked out and the President may continue on a different plane.

    British Airways Flight Diverts to Shannon Airport due to Medical Emergency

    British Airways flight BA-292 made an emergency landing at Shannon Airport, Ireland, on November 27th.

    The plane heading from Washington Dulles International Airport, Virginia, to Heathrow Airport, England, was diverted after a woman went into labor.

    The plane landed safely. The woman was rushed to a hospital.

    F-16 Jet Makes Emergency Landing at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base

    An F-16C fighter jet made an emergency landing at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Greene County, Ohio, on April 4th.

    According to the base spokesperson Bryan Ripple, the jet belonging to the Toledo-based 180th Fighter Wing declared an emergency due to a hydraulic leak.

    The plane landed safely. No injuries were reported.

    It is believed that the jet was involved in an aerial training exercise in the Buckeye Military Operating Area before the incident.

    Scandinavian Airlines Flight Returns to Copenhagen due to Cargo Smoke Indication

    Scandinavian Airlines flight SK-995 had to return and make an emergency landing in Copenhagen, Denmark, on February 4th.

    The Airbus A340-300 plane took off for Beijing, China, but had to return shortly afterwards after the crew received a cargo smoke indication.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All 56 people aboard remained safe.

    The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

    What: Continental Airlines Boeing 777-200 en route from Newark,NJ (USA) to Hong Kong
    Where: Newark NJ
    When: Mar 10 2010
    Who: 301 aboard
    Why: After takeoff, the Boeing encountered a flock of geese, with bird strikes on the right wing and nose. The jet circled the airport to burn off fuel, then landed safely.

    Rossiya Airlines Flight Returns to Cambridge due to Landing Gear Issue

    Rossiya Airlines flight FV-5418 had to return for an emergency landing in Cambridge, England, United Kingdom, on January 31st.

    The Boeing 747-400 plane took off for Moscow, Russia, but had to turn back after the crew failed to retract the landing gear.

    The plane landed back safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
