    Shanghai Airlines Flight Returns to Taiwan due to Engine Problem

    Shanghai Airlines flight FM-852 had to return for an emergency landing in Taipei, Taiwan, on February 24th.

    The Airbus A330-300 plane took off for Shanghai, China, but had to return shortly afterwards after the crew noticed a problem with one of the engines and decided to shut it down.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All 299 people aboard remained safe.

    EasyJet Plane Diverts to Birmingham due to Medical Emergency

    EasyjetAn EasyJet flight, en route from Aberdeen to London Gatwick, was diverted to Birmingham on Thursday, due to a medical emergency.

    According to the airline spokesperson, “EasyJet can confirm that flight EZY872 from Aberdeen to London Gatwick diverted to Birmingham Airport on April, 17, 2014 due to a passenger onboard requiring urgent medical assistance.”

    The plane carrying 125 passengers safely landed on Birmingham Airport at about 10 am.

    Flybe Plane Returns to Southampton Airport after Bird Strike

    flybeA Flybe flight had to return and make an emergency landing at Southampton airport, United Kingdom, on January 3.

    The Embraer E175 plane took off for Alicante, Spain, but had to return shortly afterwards after a bird hit it, causing damage to the propeller.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All 83 passengers remained unharmed.

    Turkish Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Istanbul

    Turkish Airlines flight TK-541 made an emergency landing in Istanbul, Turkey, on June 13th.

    The Boeing 737-900 plane took off for Niamey, Niger, but the crew received a tail strike indication during departure and decided to return.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Small Plane Makes Safe Emergency Landing at Rural Peosta Road

    A small plane had to make an emergency landing at Cox Springs Road, just south of U.S. 20, in Peosta, Iowa, on April 11.

    The single-engine plane was heading from California to Galt Airport, Illinois when the pilot Adam Maritz noticed smoke in the cockpit and decided to make an emergency landing.

    The plane landed uneventfully and the pilot, who was the only one aboard, remained unharmed.

    The FAA was notified.
