Virgin America flight VX-108 made an emergency landing at at Los Angeles International Airport, California, on February 18th.
The Airbus A320-200 plane, heading from Los Angeles to Washington Dulles International Airport, had to return due to issue with retracting the landing gear.
The plane landed uneventfully. All 110 passengers and crew members remained safe.
The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

Why: A home built ultralight carrying two passengers on a training exercise crashed at an airfield two hundred feet from the runway between 10:00 and 10:15 pm. The plane fell from the sky, and exploded when it impacted the ground. A local farmer who was on site to cut the grass attempted to come to the aid of the pilots who were calling for help, and was injured by the fire.
The light aluminum frame burned quickly.
Apparently Vladimir Bodiš and Marinko Lovri? survived the impact but died in the fire. Bodiš was an Eagle test pilot with a commercial license, and Lovri? taught military pilots although a Croatian newspaper said they found no license for him.
Hawaiian Airlines flight HA-64 made an emergency landing in Hilo, Hawaii, on August 11th.
The plane heading from Lihue, Hawaii, to Los Angeles, California, was diverted after the crew noticed smoke in the cockpit.
The plane landed safely. There were two hundred and seventy-six people aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.
The pilot and thirteen passengers of a Cessna 208B Grand Caravan took off on Monday from Loreto to Ciudad Constitución Airport but lost contact with air traffic control after takeoff, and subsequently all died in a crash in the Sierra de La Giganta mountains. Their deaths were confirmed when the wreckage was located on October 16.

On December 22, 2012, a Delta/Pinnacle Canadair CRJ 200 New York-Cleveland skidded off the runway on to soft ground. The flight had made a safe landing in Cleveland but skidded off the runway during taxi to the terminal.
No injuries were reported.
Passengers had to disembark on to the runway, and were provided transportation to the gate.
Cathay Pacific flight CX-888 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Seattle, Washington, on February 4th.
The Boeing 777-300 plane heading from Hong Kong, China, to Vancouver, Canada, was diverted due to adverse weather conditions in Vancouver.
The plane landed safely. All 155 passengers aboard remained unharmed.
