    Airbus Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Smoke in Cockpit

    Airbus Transport International flight BGA-143F made an emergency landing in Hamburg, Germany, on February 26th.

    The plane flying from Chester Airport, England, was descending toward Hamburg when the crew noticed smoke in the cockpit and declared an emergency.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Scandinavian Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Loss of Cabin Pressure

    Scandinavian Airlines flight SK-4437 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Trondheim, Norway, on December 20th.

    The plane heading from Tromso to Oslo, Norway, was diverted after it lost cabin pressure.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Aviones Taxi Disappears in Sierra de Santa Martha Mexico

    What: Aviones Taxi AIFE Cessna 501 Citation ISP en route from Minatitlan to Veracruz
    Where: Sierra de Santa Martha Mexico
    When: Oct 6 2010
    Who: 8 aboard
    Why: Flying in cloudy weather, the Citation 511-Alpha Extra TKY disappeared from radar into the Santa Martha mountains. Six senior executives of Coppel (Arturo Peraza, Alejandro Quintero Uzun, David Gerardo Soria, Luis Salvador Sánchez, Norma Leticia Torres and Brenda Camacho. ) and 2 pilots ( Javier Montoya, Bernardo Estrada) were on board, visiting a flood damaged property.

    The plane disappeared near the Sierra de Santa Martha, in Soteapan. Three helicopters tracking the flight have not located the wreckage, which may be located in jungle of Los Tuxtlas

    Six Missing in Australia

    What: 930s de Havilland Dragon
    Where: Kilcoy, Australia

    Who: 6 missing
    Why: Six people who were aboard a vintage plane were returning to Caboolture after spending the day raising money for charity by hosting joy flights at the Monto Fly-In in central Queensland have been missing in Australia since Monday:

    • Les D’evlin, 75
    • his wife Janice, 61, of Manly West,
    • John Dawson,
    • his wife Carol Dawson, both 63, of Tingalpa,
    • pilot Des Porter
    • his wife Kath Porter

    The AMSA (Australian Maritime Safety Authority) received a distress call from Mr Porter saying he was having trouble “fixing his position in heavy cloudcover.” That was the last contact with the plane.

    3 Canberra search and rescue co-ordinators flew in assisting AMSA.

    Sixteen helicopters and two planes are participating in the search.

    French Pilot Crashes in Vienne

    What: Skyranger
    Where: Vienne France
    When: Oct 23, 2012 3:00 pm
    Who: 1 fatality
    Why: The pilot of a SkyRanger failed to return from a 2 hour flight, triggering a Sater Bravo land-air rescue.

    A search went on till 2:00 a.m. The next day his remains were discovered near an electrical cable in a wooded area, ten miles east of the airport. The plane was severely damaged.

    Eaglemed Crash in Oklahoma City

    On Feb 22, 2013 at 5:45 a.m., an EagleMed LLC Eurocopter AS 350B2 Ecureuil while en route from Baptist hospital to home base when the chopper crashed between St. Ann’s Nursing Home and St. Ann’s Retirement Center in Watonga. On impact, there was an explosion, and then a second explosion. Pilot Mark Montgomery and nurse Chris Denning were killed. Medic Billy Wynne was injured. Montgomery, Denning and Wynne were aboard. Passing nurses pulled the medic from the helicopter.

    One injured person was taken to OU Medical Center.

    The NTSB is investigating.
