    Gol Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Brazil

    Gol Airlines flight G3-2020 had to return and make an emergency landing in Brasilia, Brazil, on January 22nd.

    The Boeing 737-700 plane took off for Boa Vista, Brazil, but had to return shortly afterwards after the crew failed to retract landing gear.

    The plane landed safely. There were 130 people aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.

    Where: Rawalpindi airport in Pakistan
    When: August 12, 2011
    Who: Eight injured, 300+ aboard
    Why: While en route from Multan to Islamabad, the flight encountered bad weather, and made an emergency landing in Rawalpindi.

    One person was seriously injured.

    Lufthansa Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Frankfurt

    Lufthansa flight LH-612 made an emergency landing in Frankfurt, Germany, on June 1st.

    The Airbus A321-200 plane took off for Baku, Azerbaijan, but had to return shortly afterwards due to an engine failure.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    When: Dec 1 2011
    Who: 21 passengers
    Why: After takeoff, the flight developed problems with the landing gear. Pilots diverted to Green Bay where they made a safe landing at Austin Straubel International Airport.

    Passengers were provided alternate flights from Green Bay.

    Lufthansa Airbus Engine Shut down

    What: Lufthansa Airbus A380-800 en route from Tokyo to Frankfurt
    Where: Estonia
    When: Aug 6th 2010
    Why: While en route, the left engine developed oil pressure problems and the crew shut it down. The flight continued to Frankfurt where they made a safe landing.

    EasyJet Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Spain

    EasyJet flight U2-6950 had to return and make an emergency landing at Tenerife–South Airport, Spain, on January 1st.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane took off for Edinburgh Airport, Scotland, but had to turn back due to indication of an open door.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
