The plane took off for Trondheim, Norway, but had to return shortly afterwards due to an engine failure.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

Why: In flight, the passenger became ill, necessitating an emergency landing, and immediate trip to the hospital where it was found by ex ray that he had swallowed bags of drugs.
The passenger is facing criminal charges.

Emirates flight EK413 had to make an emergency landing at Bandaranaike International Airport, Sri Lanka, on June 26.
The Airbus A380, carrying 471 passengers and 30 crew members, was travelling from Sydney to Dubai when the pilot reported smoke in the cockpit and requested an emergency landing.
According to the airline, “Emirates flight EK413 from Sydney to Dubai…was diverted to Colombo due to a technical fault… The aircraft landed safely at the Bandaranaike International Airport and passengers were transferred to other Emirates flights.”
Turkish Airlines flight TK-2909 had to return and make an emergency landing in Izmir, Turkey, on February 28th.
The Boeing 737-800 plane took off for Istanbul, Turkey, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a bird strike.
The plane landed uneventfully. All passengers and crew members remained safe.
American Eagle flight 5946 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Louisville International Airport, Kentucky, on September 25th.
The plane was heading from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Texas, to Dayton, Ohio, when the crew reported a mechanical problem and decided to divert.
The plane landed safely. There were 51 passengers and 4 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained unhurt.
Delta Airlines flight 1484 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Rochester, Minnesota, on February 10th.
The plane heading from Las Vegas, Nevada, to Detroit, Michigan, was diverted after a passenger became ill.
The plane landed safely.
The passenger was rushed to a hospital.

Why: While en route, the plane indicated a gear problem.
