A United Express Flight 5733, a Canadian-made Bombadier CRJ700 regional jet operated by SkyWest Airlines, diverted to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport at 4:49 p.m. (6:49 p.m. ET) on October 31, 2013.
All 42 passengers safely exited.
The flight had been en route from San Francisco to San Antonio Texas. The diversion was due to a threatening note.
A bomb squad swept the plane and the luggage.
Air France flight AF-1390 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Munich, Germany, on April 8th.
The Airbus A319-100 plane heading form Charles de Gaulle Airport, France, to Istanbul, Turkey, was diverted due to a suspected fuel leak.
The plane landed uneventfully. All passengers and crew members remained safe.

Why: While en route, the crew declared an emergency.
Passengers and crew were affected by fumes that spread from the cabin to the cockpit. The fumes aboard the flight seemed to be worse in the back of the plane. In addition to the odor, passengers felt confused and dizzy, and some had chest pains, and had to use on board oxygen masks. It was described as “a very unpleasant odor.”
The flight diverted to Charlotte and made a safe landing. Maintenance inspected the plane, the third such incident in Charlotte in two weeks.
Five people aboard the flight were hospitalized.
Southwest Airlines flight WN-607 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Juan Manuel Galvez International Airport, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras, on May 29th.
The Boeing 737-700, flying from San Jose, Costa Rica, to Baltimore, Maryland, was mid air when the crew reported smoke in the cabin, prompting the plane to divert.
The plane landed uneventfully. All 148 people onboard remained unharmed.
The passengers were accommodated in a replacement plane.

Why: While en route, the plane developed a problem with cabin pressure. The crew had perform a descent to safe levels.
Pilots returned to Bern where they made a safe landing.
A US Airways Express jet made an emergency landing at Dayton International Airport in Ohio, on April 13.
The plane was en-route from Charlotte, North Carolina, to Milwaukee when the pilot requested an emergency landing due to a maintenance light indicator.
The plane landed uneventfully. There were 74 passengers and 4 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.
The flight was operated by a U.S. Airways subsidiary PSA Airlines.
The Southwest Airlines flight 424, from Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport to Chicago Midway International Airport, had to divert and land in emergency at Port Columbus International Airport, Ohio, at 2 a.m. Central Time on July 23.
The pilot decided to make an emergency landing after there was an indication of smoke in the forward cargo hold.
The plane landed safely and slides were used to evacuate the 49 passengers on board. No one was hurt.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating. Southwest Airlines has declared the plane out of service for inspection.
An alternate was flight arranged for taking the passengers to their destination.
