    Unruly Passenger Forces Delta Emergency Landing on Christmas Night

    250px-Delta_logo.svgDelta Airlines flight 81 had to make an emergency landing on Christmas night, at Albuquerque International Sunport, Albuquerque, New Mexico.

    The Boeing 767, en-route from Atlanta to Los Angeles, was diverted after the pilot reported a ‘security threat’ due to a disruptive passenger on-board.

    The plane, carrying more than 200 passengers, landed shortly after 6 p.m. The police escorted the unruly passenger out of the plane.

    The flight was able to take off again after around 90 minutes.

    According to Airport spokesperson Daniel Jiron, the man was not charged but was not allowed to board the flight again.

    Carpatair Plane Overruns Runway in Sweden

    CarpatairCarpatair flight 2N-4856 overran the runway after failing to stop before the end of the runway at Gallivare Airport, Gallivare, Sweden, on April 6th.

    The Fokker 100, flying from Arvidsjaur, Sweden, had landed on Gallivare’s runway when it could not stop and ended up with its nose gear on soft ground.

    The plane received minor damage.

    All 55 passengers onboard remained unharmed.

    American Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Little Rock

    American Airlines flight AA-2273 made an emergency landing in Little Rock, Arkansas, on June 3rd.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane heading from Atlanta, Georgia, to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Texas, was diverted after the crew noticed a fuel imbalance.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All passengers and crew members remained safe.

    Airblue Flight Returns to Islamabad After Bird Strike

    Airblue flight PA-274 had to return and make an emergency landing in Islamabad, Pakistan, on January 30th.

    The Airbus A321-200 plane took off for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a bird strike.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All passengers and crew members remained safe.

    Swiss European Airlines Flight Diverted to Stansted Due to Engine Fire

    A Swiss European Airlines flight LX-487 had to make an emergency landing at London Stansted Airport, after one of its engines caught fire.

    The plane was en route from London City to Basel on the night of Sunday April 27. During the initial climb, its right hand engine caught fire, after which the crew decided to halt the climb at the altitude of 5000 feet and shut down the engine. The plane was then diverted to the Stansted Airport, where it made an uneventful emergency landing, around 30 minutes after it took off.

    All 82 passengers and 4 crew members exited safely. The flight was cancelled and the passengers were accommodated in another flight from London’s Heathrow Airport.

    American Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Shannon Airport

    American Airlines flight AA-63 made an emergency landing at Shannon Airport, Ireland, on November 29th.

    The Boeing 777-200 plane heading from Charles de Gaulle Airport, France, to Miami, Florida, was diverted due to an engine issue.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All two hundred and six passengers and thirteen crew members remained safe.
