    What: Gol Linhas Aereas Boeing 737-700 en route from Salvador to Sao Paulo
    Where: Sao Paulo
    When: Apr 26th 2011
    Who: 144 passengers
    Why: On landing at Sao Paulo, the plane touched down, and the vibration from landing knocked the ceiling panels to the cabin floor.

    According to reports, the vibrations came from the nose gear, and the airline claims that the falling panels caused no danger. The vibrations could have been the result of a hard landing on the Congonhas runway.

    Moncton: American Airline Smokey Cockpit Emergency Landing

    What: American Airlines Boeing 777-200 en route from London to Chicago
    Where: Moncton
    When: May 3rd 2011, 3 pm
    Who: 150 aboard
    Why: While en route, the crew reported the smell of smoke, and diverted to Moncton in Canada.

    The plane landed with emergency services on standby and emergency services stayed until 5:20 p.m. The smoke in the cockpit turned out to be from an overheating battery. Dieppe Fire Department examined the plane. There were no injuries, and passengers were provided a room in the airport, so they didn’t have to go through customs.

    A replacement jet was flown in.

    Dana Air Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Lagos

    Dana Air flight 9J-343 had to return and make an emergency landing in Lagos, Nigeria, on April 21st.

    The plane took off for Port Harcourt, Nigeria, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a bird strike.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained safe.

    Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Benton County

    A 4-seater, Cirrus plane made an emergency landing on 15th Avenue NE in Langola Township, Benton County, Minnesota, near Rice, at about 1:45 p.m. on September 7.

    The incident happened when the plane was en route from the Mankato area to Breezy Point.

    According to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, the single-engine plane, which was heading to St. Cloud Regional Airport, landed in emergency due to some mechanical problems.

    None of the 4 people aboard, including the Pilot Craig Bureind, 52, of Chanhassen and his 3 passengers, suffered any injuries. The plane hit a telephone pole support wire during landing and was slightly damaged.

    The FAA will investigate the incident.

    Beechcraft Crash in Mangum Oklahoma

    On Jan 19 2013, a 1964 Beechcraft B55 Baron operated by J S Leasing experienced engine trouble and crashed in a field in Mangum Oklahoma.

    Three people were aboard at the time. The crash occurred at about 5:30 pm. Witnesses say the plane appeared to have engine problems.

    THe fatalities have been listed as the pilot Stephen Scott, John Hall, and Edi Ortega.

    Those aboard had to be extricated from the wreckage.

    United Airlines Flight Diverts to Shannon Airport due to Medical Emergency

    United Airlines flight UA-946 had to divert for an emergency landing at Shannon Airport, Ireland, on January 20th.

    The plane flying from Washington Dulles International Airport, Virginia, to Amsterdam, Netherlands, was diverted after the captain became unconscious.

    The plane, carrying 82 passengers and 12 crew members, landed safely.

    The captain was rushed to a hospital.
