    SkyWestSkyWest Airlines flight OO-5025/UA-5025 had to return and make a safe emergency landing at Redding Municipal Airport, Redding, California, on July 13th.

    The Canadair CRJ-200 en-route to San Francisco, California was climbing out of Redding’s runway when the crew failed to retract its landing gear.

    The plane landed safely.

    1 Dead, 1 Injured after Small Plane Crashed in Imperial County, CA

    A small plane crashed in Imperial County, California, on November 24th.

    The plane was carrying two people when it went down near Highway 78 and Ted Kipf Road.

    One person was killed in the accident while the other one was injured.

    The accident is being investigated.

    Virgin America Flight Returns to Denver After Bird Strike

    Virgin AmericaVirgin America flight VX-865 had to return and make an emergency landing in Denver, Colorado, on May 23rd.

    The Airbus A320-200 took off for San Francisco, California, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a bird strike.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All 136 people aboard remained safe.

    Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Orange County

    A small Piper Cherokee plane made an emergency landing at Red Hill and McGaw avenues in Irvine, Orange County, California, on September 16.

    Authorities said the plane, owned by Orange Coast College, came to rest at MacArthur Boulevard near John Wayne Airport.

    There were 2 people, including a student pilot and an instructor, aboard at the time; none of them reported any injuries.

    The FAA is looking into the cause of crash.

    Allegiant Air plane Diverts to Rhode Island due to Smell of Smoke

    AllegiantAllegiant Air flight G4-736 had to divert and make an emergency landing at T. F. Green Airport in Providence, Kent County, Rhode Island, on December 30.

    The McDonnell Douglas MD-83, flying from Orlando, Florida, to Bangor, Maine, had to divert due to smell of smoke.

    The aircraft received minor damage due to heat.

    All 120 people aboard remained safe.

    Divers Search for Angel Flight Pilot

    on May 24, 2013, an Angel flight #N31743 northeast Piper PA 34 en route from Massachusetts to Rome NY crashed in a reservoir in a wooded area in Ephratah New York. Visibility at the time in Rome was 10 miles.

    Divers were scheduled to search daylight on the 25th. The bodies of a man and a woman, believed to be the two passengers were recovered. The search for the pilot’s body is ongoing.

    The plane circled the area once, then witnesses say they heard a struggling engine and a backfire, then saw the plane “flipping through the air” with pieces of the plane falling from the sky.

    Angel Flight teams provide free air transportation and medical care.

    The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
