TAM Airlines flight JJ8065 had to return and make an emergency landing at Barajas International Airport in Madrid, Spain, on December 15.
The Boeing 777 took off for Sao Paulo, Brazil, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a bomb threat.
The plane landed uneventfully. Everyone aboard remained safe.
This is not the first time we have met this Malaysia Airlines Boeing.
Our first meeting with #9M-MRO was when it had a fender bender at Shanghai-Pudong International when it was taxiing and bumped the tail of a China Eastern Airlines A340 plane, B-6050. The Boeing wingtip broke off; and the tail of the other plane. Other sources list this as a different plane but you can’t argue with the BEA as a source. They’re French.

Our usual aviation photographers at Airliners net don’t show the down and dirty photos any more, so we had to do some ground-level searches to find this. These are from the plain old internet, none of our experts so feel free to blame (or praise) the search engine. This plane was broken. But if it was flying okay the accident well over a year ago, then do we presume the site of the damage was as good as new?
UTAir flight UT-132 had to return and make an emergency landing in Krasnoyarsk, Russia, on October 26th.
The plane took off for Tomsk, Russia, but had to turn back after the crew noticed smell of smoke in the cabin.
The plane landed back safely. All sixty-seven people aboard remained unharmed.

FLT 243 EXPERIENCED AN EXPLOSIVE DECOMPRESSION AND STRUCTURAL FAILURE AT FL240 WHILE ENROUTE FROM HILO, HI, TO HONOLULU, HI. APRX 18 FT OF CABIN SKIN AND STRUCTURE AFT OF THE CABIN ENTRANCE DOOR AND ABOVE THE PASSENGER FLOORLINE SEPARATED FROM THE ACFT. ONE FLT ATTENDANT WHO WAS STANDING IN THE AISLE WAS SWEPT OVERBOARD. THE FLT DIVERTED TO MAUI AND A LANDING WAS ACCOMPLISHED. The Airbus A333-300, flying from Munich, Germany, was mid-air above Serbia when it lost its cabin pressure, prompting the crew to initiate an emergency descent before regaining control of the cabin pressure.
The plane landed successfully.
All people onboard remained unharmed.
