Swift Air flight WQ-933 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Miami International Airport, Florida, on July 7th.
The Boeing 737-300 flying from Montego Bay, Jamaica, to Cleveland, Ohio, had to divert due to smoke indication in its cargo hold.
The plane landed safely.
All 155 people aboard remained safe.
The two men who died in the accident were 51-year-old Cyril McLavin, of Fresh Meadows in Queens, and 72-year-old Andrew Messana, from Bayside, Queens.
The accident is under investigation.

Allegiant Air flight G4-533 had to return and make an emergency landing at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, Boone County, Kentucky, on July 20th.
The Boeing 757-200 en-route to Las Vegas, Nevada, had to return due to problems with its right engine.
The plane landed safely.
All 203 passengers and 7 crew members remained safe.

Why: While en route, the right engine was shut down. The plane made a safe landing in Tucuman. Passengers were provided hotel accommodations and booked on alternative flights.
Etihad Airways flight EY-450 made an emergency landing in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on September 27th.
The Boeing 777-300 plane took off for Sydney, Australia, but had to turn back after the crew reported an engine issue.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unhurt.
A military aircraft made a safe emergency landing at L.F. Wade International Airport, Bermuda, on May 11 at 3pm.
The eye-witnesses said that the plane was extending and retracting its landing gear repeatedly.
A police spokesman confirmed the incident and said that all the emergency protocols were observed.
The causeway remained closed for traffic during the emergency landing. The aircraft was surrounded by fire trucks and ambulances as soon as it stopped on the runway.
The cause of incident is not yet known.
A Jetstream 32 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Bonaventure Airport, Quebec, Canada, on March 30th.
The aircraft was carrying the late Canadian Parliament member Jean Lapierre’s brother-in-law from Montreal and was on its way to Magdalen Islands, when the crew encountered some problem with the engine, prompting the plane to divert.
The plane landed successfully.
All people onboard remained unhurt.
