    Cathay Pacific Plane Returns to Hong Kong

    Cathay PacificCathay Pacific flight CX-92 had to make an emergency landing in Hong Kong, China, on April 6th.

    The plane took off for Anchorage, Alaska, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a low oil pressure indication in one of the engines.

    The plane landed uneventfully. No injuries were reported.

    JetBlue Flight Makes Emergency Landing at JFK Airport

    JetBlue flight B6-1274 made an emergency landing at John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, on September 2nd.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane flying from Charleston, South Carolina, was descending toward JFK Airport when the crew reported an issue with the nose wheel steering.

    The plane continued for a safe landing. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    City Jet Plane Returns to Ireland after Engine Shut Down

    CityJetCity jet flight WX-112/AF-3141 had to return and make an emergency landing at Dublin Airport, Ireland, on May 20th.

    The Avro RJ-85, en-route to London City, UK, had to return due to low oil pressure. The crew had to shut down one of its engines mid-air.

    The plane landed safely.

    No injuries were reported.

    Aerotrans Cargo Plane Makes Emergency Landing at Frankfurt-Hahn Airport

    Aerotrans Cargo flight ATG-4419 had to make an emergency landing at Frankfurt-Hahn Airport, Germany, on February 26th.

    The Boeing 747-400 plane took off for Baku, Azerbaijan, but had to turn back due to vibrations.

    The plane landed back safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    It was noticed that the aft cowl of one the engines had partly separated during the flight.

    Multiple Flats on Landing in Costa Rica

    What: TACA airlines Airbus A321-200 en route from El Salvador to San José Costa Rica
    Where: Costa Rica
    When: October 18, 2012
    Who: 146 passengers, 7 crew
    Why: On touchdown, three tires burst on the wet runway, resulting in an emergency landing. The plane skidded and spun to the right and when it came to a stop, it was perpendicular to the end of the runway.

    There were no injuries reported when the plane landed at 4.pm. Burst tires can often occur as the result of a hard or too fast landing.

    Passengers disembarked on to the runway.

    The incident is under investigation.

    Qantas Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Flaps Problem

    Qantas flight QF-121 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Invercargill, New Zealand, on May 16th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane heading from Sydney, Australia, to Queenstown, New Zealand, was diverted after the crew noticed an issue with the flaps.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
