    Delta Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Amsterdam

    Delta Airlines flight DL-131 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on March 17th.

    The Boeing 767-400 plane heading from Munich, Germany, to Atlanta, Georgia, was diverted after the crew reported engine vibrations.

    The plane landed safely. There were 257 people aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.

    Dreamlifter enters Service

    EVERETT, Wash., Feb. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — The fourth Boeing (NYSE: BA) Dreamlifter – the final airplane in the fleet of specially modified 747-400s – entered service today. Dreamlifters transport the large composite structures of the 787 Dreamliner from partners around the world to Everett, Wash. for final assembly. The unique airplane, which was modified by Evergreen Aviation Technologies Corp. in Taipei, Taiwan, took off from Paine Field in Everett early this morning. Bound for Wichita, Kan., the Dreamlifter is returning the equipment used to transport the forward fuselage section known as section 41. The airplane’s registry is N718BA.

    Ryanair Flight Returns to Rhodes After Dog Strike

    Ryanair flight FR-1431 had to return and make an emergency landing at Rhodes Airport, Greece, on November 5th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane took off for Athens, Greece, but suffered a dog strike during takeoff.

    The crew subsequently turned back and landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Southwest Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Albuquerque

    Southwest Airlines flight WN-4454 made an emergency landing in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on December 9th.

    The Boeing 737-700 plane heading from Lubbock, Texas, to Las Vegas, Nevada, was diverted due to a lavatory smoke indication.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Southwest Airlines Plane Diverts to Honduras due to Smoke Indication

    Southwest Airlines flight WN-607 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Juan Manuel Galvez International Airport, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras, on May 29th.

    The Boeing 737-700, flying from San Jose, Costa Rica, to Baltimore, Maryland, was mid air when the crew reported smoke in the cabin, prompting the plane to divert.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All 148 people onboard remained unharmed.

    The passengers were accommodated in a replacement plane.

    American Airlines Flight to Puerto Rico Cancelled due to Smoke in Cabin

    What: American Airlines Boeing 757-200 en route from Boston to San Juan, Puerto Rico
    Where: Logan International Airport
    When: Saturday 8:35 a.m-9:30 am
    Who: 185 on board
    Why: After smoke was detected in the cabin, the flight turned toward to Logan, and the crew found and put out the fire. The flight continued on to Logan, where passengers took alternative flights.
