What: Red Wings Airlines Tupolev TU-204 en route from Nizhny Novgorod to Antalya
Where: Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport.
When: Saturday 6:40 p.m.
Who: 208 passengers (also reported as 200)
Why: After experiencing an engine problem, the crew burned fuel and landed safely at Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport. No injuries were reported.
What: FlyMontserrat Britten-Norman Islander en route from Antigua to Montserrat Island
Where: V.C. Bird International Airport
When: October 7 2012
Who: pilot and 3 passengers
Why: The twin-engine Britten-Norman Islander en route from Antigua to Montserrat Island overran a rainy runway at 4 p.m. and crashed.
Witnesses heard irregularities in the engine before it “plunged into the end of the runway.”
The pilot was reported as a fatality. A female British tourist died in the crash, and two other passengers are reported to be hospitalized at at Mount St. John’s Medical Centre.
Air France flight AF-1266 made an emergency landing in Florence, Italy, on December 28th.
The Airbus A318-100 plane flying from Charles de Gaulle Airport, France, was on final approach when the crew reported a strong unusual smell throughout the aircraft.
The plane continued for a safe landing. Everyone aboard remained safe.
British Airways flight BA-143 diverted and made an emergency landing at the runway of Frankfurt Airport, Germany, on September 4.
The Boeing 777-200, flying from Heathrow Airport, England, to Dehli, India, had to be diverted after the crew noticed fumes in cabin.
The plane landed safely and no injuries were reported.
The incident was being investigated.

What: Qantas Boeing 737-800 Aukland to Sydney
Where: Sydney
When: Apr 13 2011
Who: 130 passengers
Why: While en route, the plane reportedly had a fuel leak and an engine problem while over the Tasman sea. They made a “priority” landing in Sydney, with no injuries, although the fuel leak problem was mistakenly announced.
The problem was diagnosed as a fuel transfer valve, which was subsequently replaced.
Prior to landing safely in Sydney, the problem was announced on Twitter.
Flybe flight BE-1048 made an emergency landing in Manchester, England, on May 11th.
The plane was flying from Aberdeen, Scotland, when the crew reported a hydraulic leak and requested an emergency landing.
The plane landed safely. There were 52 people aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.
Turkish Airlines flight TK-1911 had to return and make an emergency landing in Istanbul, Turkey, on December 17th.
The Airbus A321-200 plane took off for Zurich, Switzerland, but had to turn back due to a bird strike.
The plane landed uneventfully. Everyone aboard remained safe.
