    Texas Utility Helicopter Crashes with 1 Fatality

    What: Brim Equipment Leasing Inc Hughes 369D
    Where: Childress, TX
    When: Nov 27, 2012, 4:05 p.m.
    Who: 2 aboard, 1 fatality
    Why: While hovering above ground, the aircraft was holding a passenger suspended fifty feet below. THe passenger was working on a power line a hundred feet above ground.

    The helicopter lost power and fell. Pilot Keith Hard was sustained back injuries in the crash and was hospitalized at Childress Regional Medical Canter. Jonathan David Suhr was working on the power line and impacted the ground when the helicopter fell. Suhr was taken to Childress Regional Medical Center where he died.

    The NTSB is investigating.

    S7 Airlines Flight Returns to Moscow After Engine Failure

    S7 Airlines flight S7-1023 had to return and make an emergency landing at Moscow Domodedovo Airport, Russia, on December 23rd.

    The plane took off for Sochi, Russia, but had to turn back due to an engine failure.

    The plane landed back safely. All one hundred and ninety-two people aboard remained unharmed.

    ANA Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Tokyo

    All Nippon Airways flight NH-937 had to return and make an emergency landing in Tokyo, Japan, on August 21st.

    The Boeing 767-300 plane took off for Wuhan, China, but had to turn back due to a hydraulic issue.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Navy Helicopter Crashes in Red Sea

    A United States Navy Sikorsky MH-60S Sea Hawk assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 6 crashed in the Red Sea on Sunday. Three of the five aboard are recuperating. Two are missing and presumed dead. The crew is from Naval Air Station North Island. (San Diego)

    The USS Nimitz Carrier Strike Group is supporting the rescue efforts. The crash is reported as an attempted landing on the deck.

    The names of the two lost at sea have not been released. All of the crew wore floatation devices and safety gear-

    Engine Fire over Launceston Australia Instigates Emergency Landing

    What: Virgin Blue Boeing 737-800 en route from Launceston to Sydney
    Where: Launceston
    When: Aug 20th 2009
    Who: 151 passengers
    Why: Shortly after takeoff, passengers heard a “bang” and flames were seen from an engine. The plane circled Launceston for thirty minutes before being cleared to land, which it did, safely. The problem was described as an “engine surge.” Passengers debarked and were provided an alternative plane to take them to Launceston.

    Air Transat Plane Returns to Gatwick Airport due to Cabin Pressure Issue

    Air TransatAir Transat flight TS-423 had to return and make an emergency landing at Gatwick Airport, United Kingdom, on June 10th.

    The plane took off for Toronto, Ontario, but had to return shortly afterwards after the crew reported a cabin pressure issue.

    The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
