A Rohinson R22 Beta II helicopter made a crash landing near the Horsebend area, south of Gardnerville, in Douglas County, Nevada, in the afternoon of August 27.
The pilot, identified as Dolye Holden, and his friend, Karen Cole, were returning from the Horsebend area, after fishing in Carson River, when the helicopter started malfunctioning and they had to make the crash landing.
According to the authorities, 2 people suffered minor injuries in the accident. They were able to call another pilot who then flew them to Carson Valley Medical Centre for treatment.
The NTSB is investigating the cause of the crash.

Saudi Arabian Airlines flight SV-61 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Glasgow Prestwick Airport, Prestwick, Scotland, on March 31st.
The Boeing 777, en-route from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to Toronto, Canada, was mid-air when a passenger reportedly fell ill onboard, prompting the plane to divert to Prestwick.
The plane landed safely.
All passengers aboard remained unharmed.

The container holding the wreckage will be stored at the Kenya Police Air-Wing facility at the Wilson Airport.
The Kenya Police Airwing Unit Commandant Rodgers Mbithi will be appearing as the first witness.
The pilots involved, Captain Nancy Gituanja and Luke Oyugi, underwent pilot training in the Ukraine in April 2009.
According to commission members, the intent of the commission is “…not to apportion blame, but to prevent occurrence.”
Fatalities included Minister of State for Provincial Administration and Internal Security George Saitoti and his permanent secretary Orwa Ojode, pilots Luke Oyugi and Nancy Gituanja and bodyguards Inspector Joshua Tonkei and Sergeant Thomas Murimi.

It crashed in a field off Wescott Road at Colusa National Wildlife Refuge.
Hughes was airlifted to Enlie Medical Center in Chico.

What: Euro Copter EC 130 helicopter en route from Fort Wayne, Indiana to Indianapolis Where: Noblesville Hanbury Manor Boulevard near the Sagamore Golf Course When: Nov 3, 2011 Who: pilot and 5 passengers Why: The pilot made a public statement that he was piloting his chopper and encountered severe weather. He made an emergency landing described as “controlled” in an Indiana corn field.
After landing, when everyone aboard had vacated, the chopper caught fire. There were no injuries.
The incident is under investigation by the NTSB and the FAA.
