Cessna Emergency Landing Key Largo
On Feb 24, 2013, a Cessna 336/337 en route from North Perry Airport Hollywood Florida to Florida Keys Marathon Airport went down in Biscayne Bay, Bayfront Park in Homestead after the pilot lost power.
There were four people aboard. After the plane was upside down, the pilot and passengers came out from under the plane. They were taken to Black Point Marina and from there to a local hospital for minor injuries.
It was termed a forced landing (wheels up) in Biscayne Bay.
There were no fatalities.

What: OLT Express Airbus A320-200 en route from Warsaw to Hurghada
Where: Sofia
When: May 17, 2012
Who: 147 passengers and 8 crew
Why: While en route, cabin lost pressure. The crew descended to save levels and diverted to Sophia.
On descent, pilots reported a fire in the cabin. A hot oxygen generation unit set carpeting on fire. Fire extinguishers on board were used.
Passengers disembarked without injury via slides.
OLT Express is a new Polish airline whose first official flight was publicly touted as April 1, 2012. OLT was formerly LOT and also YES Airways, and is currently running under the ownership of Amber Gold Group.
Looks like they need to work on their maintenance.

Mir Aero Eurocopter Crashes in Romania, 5 of 6 are Fatalities
On July 29. 2013, a Mir Aero Eurocopter EC 130 (AS 350 B4) with 6 aboard was en route.
It crashed in Taureni Lake, Mures County, Romania. Four bodies were found initially; the fifth, Sorin Terbea was found by divers. Sorin Terbea is a wealthy businessman. The woman, Terbea’s company’s marketing director who was engaged to Terbea was rescued by witnesses at the lake. She is reported to be the only survivor. Two German citizens and their child were also aboard.
The Romanian Police forensic team was sent to Mures to coordinate investigation launched after the tragedy.
Should Illegal Aliens Attend Flight School Owned by Illegal Alien?
How is it that an illegal alien who owned a Boston flight school taught foreign nationals how to fly planes, and some of them got their licenses?
25 foreign nationals received approval by TSA to begin flight training. Eight students had entered the country illegally and seventeen had overstayed their allowed period. Six actually got their licenses. The flight school owner had not undergone TSA security threat assessment, had not been approved for flight training by TSA, but held two Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) pilot licenses (FAA certificates.)
Hughes Helicopter Crash
What: Hughes 369-F chopper owned by Blackwater Worldwide (now called Xe.)
Where: U.S. Training Center campus 30 minutes south of Norfolk, Va.
When: Feb. 24, 2009–Tuesday 1:33 p.m.
Who: Instructor and student. (Instructor was declared dead on site; student was ported to a hospital.)
Why: The instructor and student were on a practice run when the helicopter’s skid apparently clipped an object on the ground and it crashed. The student was transported to a Chesapeake, Va hospital.
