Nascar Bombardier Nails Vegas Landing on One Engine

What: two-engine Bombardier CRJ-200 en route to Southern California

Who: 44 team members and a crew of four
Why: After the plane made a fuel stop in Salinas, Kan., the left engine lost oil pressure and the pilots shut it down at 38,000 feet. The General Manager of Michael Waltrip Racing said that “the plane operated flawlessly on one engine and we landed with absolutely zero incident.”

The Michael Waltrip Racing team members were en route from North Carolina to Southern California for Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup. The team came the rest of the way by bus.

    Delta Airlines Plane Returns to Seattle due to Smoke in Cabin

    Delta Airlines flight DL-2215 made an emergency landing in Seattle, Washington, on December 20th.

    The Boeing 757-200 plane was heading to Honolulu, Hawaii, when the crew noticed smoke in the cabin and decided to return.

    The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained safe.

    ExpressJet Flight Diverts to Buffalo due to Smoke in Cockpit

    ExpressJet flight EV-3968 had to divert for an emergency landing in Buffalo, New York, on August 9th.

    The Embraer ERJ-145 plane heading from Chicago, Illinois, to Montreal, Canada, was diverted after smoke was noticed in the cockpit.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All fifty passengers and three crew members remained safe.

    Piper Saratoga Makes Emergency Landing at Lake Mead Beach

    A Piper Saratoga had to make an emergency landing on a beach in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area, Nevada, at around 5 a.m. on June 22.

    The plane was en-route from North Las Vegas Airport, Nevada, to El Paso, Texas, when the its engine stopped working and the pilot decided to land in emergency. The plane landed between two portable bathrooms on the beach.

    There were 4 people aboard the plane, including the pilot and 3 female passengers. Only two of them were treated for minor injuries.

    The National Transportation Safety Board and the FAA are investigating.

    North Dakota: TaylorCraft Makes Emergency Highway Landing

    Where: Windsor Exit westbound off ramp i-94 west of Jamestown

    Who: pilot Patrick Williams of Salem, Oregon
    Why: The pilot experienced low visibility and made an emergency landing on the interstate in the westbound lane. The pilot safely moved the plane to the off ramp. (Update pending.)

    Broken Wing Forces Delta Airlines Flight 2412 to Make Emergency Landing

    Delta Airlines flight 2412 was on its way from Orlando to Atlanta, when a part of its right wing fell off.  The missing wing panel of Boeing 757 was first spotted by passengers after which, the pilot instantly decided to make emergency landing.

    There were 179 passengers and 6 crew members on the plane, who then took a sigh of relief when the plane was safely landed in Atlanta at about 7:30 pm, on March 16, 2014.

    According to Delta Airlines spokesperson, the broken wing panel did not affect the ability of aircraft to fly or land.

    The incident could have been very serious and undoubtedly, it was very scary for the passengers to look out and see part of a wing missing.
