Why: On approach, the crew discovered that the plane’ flaps were inoperable, making the speed of approach at the upper limit of the tires’ capacity. Emergency crews were on standby because of the potential tire issue. However (and fortunately) , the landing was (as you can see) uneventful.

Eurowings flight 117 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Kuwait City, Kuwait, on January 15th.The plane heading from Salalah, Oman, to Cologne, Germany, was diverted due to a bomb threat.
The plane landed safely. There were 299 passengers aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.
The authorities confirmed that no explosives were found upon inspection.

Allegiant Air Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Alabama
Allegiant Air Flight 872 made an emergency landing in Birmingham, Alabama, on February 12.
The plane took off from St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport, Florida, and was en-route to Eppley Airfield in Omaha, Nebraska, when the crew reported an electrical odor in the cabin and requested an emergency landing.
The plane landed uneventfully. All 153 passengers and 6 crew members remained safe.
The plane was taken for inspection.

Frontier Airlines flight F9-1397 made an emergency landing in Tampa, Florida, on January 1st.The Airbus A321-200 plane was flying from Cleveland, Ohio, when six passengers became sick, prompting the crew to request emergency assistance in Tampa.
The plane landed safely. Medical teams provided assistance to the sick passengers.
American Eagle Flight Lands in Emergency with Cracked Windshield
An American Eagle flight, operated by Express Jet, had to divert and make an emergency landing at Mid-Continent Airport in Wichita, Kansas, just after 8:30 a.m. on September 22.The Flight 2539 was on its way from Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Dallas, Texas, with 49 passengers and 3 crew members aboard, when its windshield cracked midair.
The pilots then decided to divert to Wichita where it made an uneventful emergency landing. Everyone aboard remained unhurt.
Investigators are looking into the cause of crack.
