    Small Plane Crash-Lands at Rapid City Regional Airport

    Rapid city airportA single-engine propeller plane crash-landed at Rapid City Regional Airport, South Dakota, on the night of February 6.

    The incident happened when the pilot and his wife were flying from Wyoming to Wisconsin.

    Authorities said the aircraft’s electrical system malfunctioned around 80 miles from Rapid City. The pilot and his wife then used their iPads to navigate to the airport in the dark.

    Landing gear could not be deployed due to the electrical system failure and the plane had to land on its belly. Fire officials said sparks were shooting from the fuselage as the plane skidded on the runway.

    Both occupants of the plane remained unharmed. Their identities have not yet been released.

    The incident is under investigation.

    Delta Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Detroit

    250px-Delta_logo.svgDelta Airlines flight DL-745 had to return and make an emergency landing at Detroit Metro Airport, in Detroit, Michigan, on June 9th.

    The Boeing 767-300 plane took off for San Francisco, California, but had to return shortly afterwards due to an issue with one of the redundant power systems.

    The plane landed uneventfully. There were 244 passengers aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.

    Crash landing at Carlsbad airport

    What: Plane landing at McClellan-Palomar Airport
    Where: plane crashed into a hillside about two miles southeast of the Carlsbad airport
    When: 7:30 a.m. Sunday morning Sept. 28
    Who: Pilot Giuseppe Puzzo. a 42-year-old resident of Lake Havasu, Ariz died of multiple blunt force injuries
    Why: Puzzo missed his first attempted landing in foggy conditions and was performing a fly around for a second approach when the plane went down.

    Virgin Atlantic Plane Returns to Las Vegas due to Wheel Well Fire Indication

    Virgin AtlanticVirgin Atlantic flight VS-44 made an emergency landing in Las Vegas, Nevada, on August 6th.

    The Boeing 747-400 plane was flying to Gatwick Airport, England, when the crew decided to turn back due to a wheel well fire indication.

    The plane landed safely. There were 359 people aboard at the time; all of the remained unhurt.

    Husband Files Dana Air Flight 992 Lawsuit


    Joy Chiedozie Allison died on Dana Air Flight 992. Her family has hired attorney Gary Robb. On June 7 (yesterday) Robb filed a 56 page lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Chicago, a discovery motion naming The Boeing Company, McDonnell Douglas Corporation, Pratt & Whitney Canada Corp., United Technologies Corporation and Estate of Peter Waxtan.

    In the Dana Airlines crash, both of the MD-83’s engines failed before it crashed into several buildings in Nigeria

    The chief engineer of Dana Air was also aboard the plane when it crashed. Employees of Dana airlines have said that owners were aware that the jet had mechanical troubles struggling on a Calabar flight;, but the crew was forced fly anyway, and fly it loaded to the hilt with passengers and luggage.

    Captain Oscar Wason is saying there may have been a bird strike. The black boxes have been recovered and will be sent to the US. The black boxes will have the truth.

    Minneapolis-Bound Delta Flight Returns to LAX

    250px-Delta_logo.svgDelta Airlines flight 2116 had to return and make an emergency landing at Los Angeles International Airport, California, shortly after 9:30 a.m. on January 13.

    The Boeing 757 took off for Minneapolis at about 8:30 a.m. but had to turn back shortly afterwards due to a mechanical issue.

    The plane landed safely after shedding off extra fuel. All 146 passengers and 6 crew members aboard remained unharmed.

    The airline later said in a statement, “The crew of Delta flight 2116 from Los Angeles to Minneapolis/St. Paul followed procedures to return to Los Angeles International after a potential systems issue was observed. The aircraft landed safely without incident and taxied to the gate under its own power. Delta is currently working to accommodate customers while technicians examine the aircraft. Safety is always Delta’s top priority and apologizes to customers for the inconvenience.”
