    TransAsiaTransAsia flight GE507 returned and made an emergency landing at Songshan Airport in Taipei, Taiwan, on February 21.

    The plane took off from Songshan Airport for Makung Airport in Penghu County but had to turn back immediately after the captain reported issues with signals involving torque.

    The plane landed back safely shortly after 1 p.m. and was taken for inspection.

    Heavy Turbulence Forced US Airways Flight from Philadelphia to Return-5 Injured

    US AirwaysA US Airways flight, which left Philadelphia International Airport at 4 p.m. on Sunday returned shortly due to heavy turbulence.

    The incident happened when the plane was carrying 300 passengers to Orlando.

    Five people were injured: a 10-year-old child complained of head pain and was taken to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, a female with head and back injuries was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, a 43-year-old male with knee pain was taken to Methodist Hospital, a flight attendant with neck and back injuries was taken to Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital, and the fifth injured person refused any medical treatment.

    The US Airways is inspecting the plane for any possible damages.

    British Airways Flight Lands Safely in Newark after Security Alert

    British airwaysA British Airways flight made an emergency landing at Newark Liberty International Airport in Newark, on June 1st.

    Authorities said a security alert was issued about the British Airways plane that was flying from London, United Kingdom.

    An airline spokesperson said, “The aircraft has landed normally. Security checks will carried out as a precaution…We do not discuss details of operational security. The safety and security of our customers and crew is our number one priority.”

    The plane was carrying 206 passengers and 13 crew members at the time.

    Oman Air Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Munich

    Oman Air flight WY-116 had to make an emergency landing in Munich, Germany, on October 17th.

    The Airbus A330-300 plane heading from Frankfurt, Germany, to Muscat, Oman, was diverted after the crew received a low engine oil quantity indication.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Blue Air flight 0B-2911 had to make an emergency landing at Henri Coanda International Airport, Romania, on August 10th.

    The Boeing 737-400 plane heading from Bacau, Romania, to Orio al Serio International Airport, Italy, was diverted after it lost cabin pressure.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    American Airlines Chicago-London Diverts to Shannon

    What: American Airlines Boeing 777 from Chicago to London
    Where: Shannon Airport
    When: Oct 2, 2012
    Why: American Airlines Flight 98 diverted to Shannon due to an unspecified technical fault. The smell of smoke was detected in the cabin.

    Ennis and Shannon fire crews and ambulances were on standby. Passengers disembarked at 1.07pm.

    Maintenance said a fan overheated.
