    What: American Airlines Boeing 737-800 en route from Washington DC to Dallas /Ft. Worth
    Where: Dulles International Airpor
    When: Nov 12th 2010
    Why: After takeoff, a cargo fire alert convinced the pilots to divert to Dulles, where they made a safe landing; and passengers disembarked on to the tarmac. The passengers were transported to the terminal and provided alternative transportation. No actual fire was found.

    Air France Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Milan–Malpensa Airport

    Air France flight AF-1605 made an emergency landing at Milan–Malpensa Airport, Italy, on October 17th.

    The plane heading from Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport, Italy, to Charles de Gaulle Airport, France, was diverted after the crew needed to shut down one of the engines due to a possible fuel leak.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    US Airways Flight Makes Emergency Landing after 2 Passengers, 14 Crew Members Fall Sick

    US AirwaysU.S. Airways flight US797 had to make an unscheduled landing at Fiumicino Airport in Rome, Italy, at around 1:38 a.m. Local time on December 6.

    The Airbus A330, carrying 129 passengers and 14 crew members, was en-route from Tel Aviv, Israel to Philadelphia when a foul odor started to sicken the passengers and crew members.

    Authorities said the pilot had to divert to Rome after 2 passengers and all 14 crew members suffered from red eyes and started vomiting midair. The plane landed uneventfully and all 16 of them were given medical treatment.

    According to the airline, “The aircraft is being evaluated by our maintenance team to determine what may have caused the odor.”

    LAX: AA Routine Emergency Landing

    What: American Airlines Boeing 757-200 en route from Los Angeles,CA to Dallas Ft. Worth,TX
    Where: Los Angeles
    When: Dec 18th 2009
    Who: 193 passengers
    Why: On takeoff, the right main gear door was stuck open, and the landing gear would not retract. The plain turned around and landed safely at LAX. Passengers debarked and were provided an alternative flight.

    Allegiant Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Maryland after Brakes Indication

    AllegiantAllegiant flight G4-822 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Baltimore- Washington International Airport, Baltimore, Maryland, on March 13.

    The Airbus A320-200, en-route from Saint Petersburg, Florida to Elmira, New York, was mid-air above Baltimore when the crew reported abnormal brakes indication and decided to divert.

    The plane landed uneventfully.

    All passengers on board remained safe. They were accommodated in a replacement plane.

    Delta Airlines Plane Carrying Oklahoma City Thunder Dented En Route to Chicago

    Delta Airlines flight DL-8935 apparently suffered a bird strike near Chicago Midway International Airport, Chicago, Illinois, on October 28th.

    The Boeing 757-200 plane, performing a charter flight for the Oklahoma City Thunder, was descending toward Chicago when its nose cone sustained a dent.

    The plane continued for a safe landing. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    The airline suspects the damage was caused by a bird strike.
