    Brussels Airlines Flight Returns to Brussels After First Officer Falls Ill

    Brussels Airlines flight SN-3233 had to return and make an emergency landing in Brussels, Belgium, on September 9th.

    The Airbus A319-100 plane took off for Rhodes, Greece, but had to return shortly afterwards after the first officer fell ill.

    The plane landed uneventfully. Everyone aboard remained safe.

    AA Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport

    american airlinesAn American Airlines flight had to divert and make an emergency landing at Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on April 14th.

    The plane, heading to Peoria International Airport, Illinois, had to be diverted after the crew reported a hydraulic issue.

    The plane landed safely. There were 46 people aboard at the time; all of them remained unhurt.

    Martin County Texas Helicopter Fatalities

    A Haverfield Aviation Hughes 369 outside of Midland Texas was engaged in a routine power line inspection at ten a.m. when the helicopter encountered problems.

    Haverfield Aviation performs Aerial Power Line Inspection And Maintenance.

    The helicopter flew into powerlines.

    The pilot survived. Two linemen suspended from the helicopter by cables fell two hundred feet when the cables snapped.

    The helicopter made a safe landing.

    OSHA and the FAA are investigating.

    Dublin: Airbus Emergency Landing


    What: British Midland Airbus A320 en route from London Heathrow to Dublin
    Where: Dublin Airport
    When: Wednesday November 19 2008 8:48 pm
    Who: 93 passengers
    Why: The pilot made a distress call at about 8.42 pm to report that a burning smell was detected in the cabin on approaching Dublin. The plane landed six minutes later without injuries.

    St. Louis: Unruly Passenger Left Behind

    What: Continental Airlines Boeing 737-800 en route from Houston to Chicago
    Where: Saint Louis
    When: May 8th 2011
    Who: disruptive passenger
    Why: While en route, a passenger attempted to open a plane door, saying he had to get out of the plane. He was subdued and restrained, as the flight diverted to Lambert International Airport, where the passenger in question was released into police custody. Charges may be pending.

    What: Rockwell International 690B, took off from Tortola in the British Virgin Islands en route to the Puerto Rican capital
    Where: Puerto Rican rainforest fog-shrouded El Yunque mountain
    When: on Wednesday
    Who: Caribbean pilot Ken Webster owner of Websta’s Aviation Services Inc. in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. ; and two U.S. tourists Tracy Turner and Ken (Kent) Clapp
    Why: During foggy weather, the plane apparently slammed into El Yunque mountain.
