    Vueling Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Amsterdam

    Vueling Airlines flight VY-8406 had to return and make an emergency landing in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on October 28th.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane took off for London Luton Airport, England, but had to turn back after the crew received indication of hot brakes.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Barcelona-Vienna Vueling Sustains Lightning Strikes

    What: Vueling Airbus A320-200 en route from Barcelona to Vienna
    Where: Vienna
    When: May 8th 2011
    Why: While en route, the plane through weather and was struck by multiple lightning strikes. The pilots continued to land in Vienna. There were no injuries but the plane received damage from two strikes.

    At the time the flight landed in Vienna, windshear had been detected, and rain and wind were causing flight delays.

    Hard Airbus Landing in Lisbon Breaks Plane

    What: SATA Internacional Airbus A320-200 en route from Ponta Delgada to Lisbon.
    Where: Lisbon
    When: Aug 6th 2009
    Who: not available
    Why: The flight had such a hard touch down that it caused substantial landing gear damage, and several rivets separated from the wing.

    The plane involved became part of the SATA fleet on May 9. It is unclear if the flight involved was flying from Funchal or Ponta Delgada; and the date also is reportedly either the 5th or the 6th.

    Delta Flight Diverted to Boston

    What: Delta Air Lines en route from John F. Kennedy Airport in New York, was bound for Tel Aviv, Israel.
    Where: Boston’s Logan International Airport
    When: 10 p.m Apr 25, 2009
    Who: 206 passengers and 11 crew members aboard
    Why: After take-off, an unruly passenger attempted to break into the cockpit. The incident was not terrorism related; the passenger reportedly had an anxiety/panic attack. He was subdued by other passengers.

    Allegiant Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Florida

    AllegiantAllegiant Airlines flight G4-1690 had to return and make an emergency landing in Punta Gorda, Florida, on November 25th.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane took off for Indianapolis, Indiana, but had to return shortly afterwards after the crew failed to retract the flaps.

    The plane landed uneventfully. Everyone aboard remained safe.

    Frontier Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Phoenix

    Frontier Airlines flight F9-1764 made an emergency landing in Phoenix, Arizona, on May 27th.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane heading from San Diego, California, to Tulsa, Oklahoma, was diverted after a number of passengers reported feeling unwell due to an unidentified odor on-board.

    The plane landed safely. Seventeen passengers were examined by the medical teams at the airport while one passenger was taken to a hospital.
