    Korean Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Amsterdam

    korean airKorean Airlines flight KE-510 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on December 5th.

    The Boeing 747-400 plane flying from Stockholm, Sweden, to Seoul, South Korea, was diverted after the crew needed to shut down one of the engines.

    The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    Lufthansa Flight Returns to Frankfurt due to Landing Gear Problem

    Lufthansa flight LH-464 had to return and make an emergency landing in Frankfurt, Germany, on September 8th.

    The Boeing 747-400 plane took off for Orlando, Florida, but had to turn back after the crew failed to retract the landing gear.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Copa Airlines Plane Suffers Hydraulic Leak After Landing In Nicaragua

    Copa Airlines flight CM-106 suffered a hydraulic leak on landing at Augusto C. Sandino International Airport in Managua, Nicaragua, on March 23rd.

    The incident happened when the Boeing 737-700 plane was coming from Panama City, Panama.

    The plane became disabled on the runway. All one hundred and twenty-one passengers and six crew members remained unharmed.

    Emergency Sun Country Diversion to Detroit

    On April 18, 2013, on landing in Lansing Michigan, a Boeing 737 owned by SUN COUNTRY suffered an incident. Almost landing, actually. We presume gusty conditions.

    On approach, a wing struck the runway.

    The crew aborted the landing, and diverted to Detroit where they made a safe landing.

    There were no injuries reported and the degree of damage to the wing and the rest of the plane has not been released.

    TAP Air Portugal Airbus loses Communication-Gets Fighter Jet escort

    What: TAP Air Portugal Airbus A320-200 en route from Lisbon to Copenhagen
    Where: Belgium
    When: Oct 18th 2009
    Why: Flying into Belgium, the flight lost communication with ATC for about 35 minutes. When ATC could not regain communication, two German fighters intercepted the plane near the Netherlands. Radio contact was restored and the flight landed without problems in Copenhagen

    Falling Boeing Door Hits No One

    What: ABX Air Boeing 767-200 en route from Cincinnati, to Seattle
    Where: Seattle
    When: Sep 7th 2012
    Who: Crew
    Why: A cargo flight lost a little something over Washington state. The refrigerator-sized landing gear door crashed to a Kent Washington street and skidded along the ground.

    The FAA picked up the DHL plane part.
