Emirates flight EK-432 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Adelaide, Australia, on September 7th.
The Boeing 777-300 plane heading from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to Brisbane, Australia, was diverted due to an engine issue.
The plane landed safely. There were 328 people aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.

Why: En route near Caracas, the plane developed an issue with the right hand engine.
The crew diverted to Caracas where they made a safe landing.
A replacement jet was provided within 20 hours.
Hawaiian Airlines flight HA-64 made an emergency landing in Hilo, Hawaii, on August 11th.
The plane heading from Lihue, Hawaii, to Los Angeles, California, was diverted after the crew noticed smoke in the cockpit.
The plane landed safely. There were two hundred and seventy-six people aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.
The Cessna 206 operated by Adrenalin Skydivers crashed during takeoff on March 22 at the airstrip, 50km north of Brisbane. Five persons, including the pilot, two tandem instructors and a couple were killed.
The Managing Director of Aero Dynamic Flight Academy and the Safety Officer of Caboolture Airfield, Bryan Carpenter said the aviation community is shattered by the tragic incident. He said it was not possible at this stage to speculate the cause of the accident. The possible causes could have been a bird collision, a mechanical failure or a center of gravity shift in the plane. The plane was reportedly having engine trouble on takeoff.
The victims included instructors Glenn Norman and Juraj Glesk, and Logan couple Rahuia Hohua and Joey King.
Adrenalin Skydivers, known as Skydive Bribie, uses Caboolture Airfield for picking up tourists for conducting tandem jumps. They land on nearby Bribie Island.
Adrenalin Skydivers Pty Ltd also had a similar accident in August 2010 killing seven on board.
The investigation is being handled by the Australian Transport Safety Bureau.

What: Emirates Airlines Airbus A380-800 en route from Sydney to Dubai

When: Nov 11, 2012
Why: After takeoff, one engine on the Emirates Airlines Sydney-Dubai flight developed a problem and was shut down. Passengers reported hearing a bang and saw flames from the engine. We do not know if it was a bird strike.
Pilots dumped fuel, returned to Sydney and made a safe landing. Passengers were provided alternative flights.
A Blue Islands flight made an emergency landing at London Southend Airport, England, shortly before 9 a.m. on January 2.
The plane was forced to land in emergency after the crew received a fire alert from one of the engines. The flight, carrying 28 passengers and 3 crew members was heading from Jersey to London City at the time.
The plane landed uneventfully and no one was injured.
The airline said, “At approximately 08:28 local this morning, the Blue Islands flight SI712 Jersey to London City Airport, with 28 passengers and three crew on-board, experienced a safety warning…As a precautionary measure, the engine was shut down, and this flight followed standard procedures and diverted to London Southend Airport. The aircraft landed safely at London Southend at 08:48…The aircraft is currently being inspected by engineers at Southend. Initial indications are that no fire took place and it appears to be a false alert.”

What: Czech Airlines Boeing 737-500 en route from Sofia to Prague

Why: While en route, the pilots encountered mechanical problems with the plane.
They diverted to Hungary where they made a safe landing. Mechanics in Hungary made repairs.
